Swearing Card

STOP!  Click away if you are offended by expletives.  Don't say I didn't warn you.  :)
My oldest daughter requested a second card after seeing the first one I did....so being the crafty mom I am, I couldn't say no.  Just a good excuse to play with The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers again anyway.
The image is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company while the sentiment was computer generated using a typewriter font.  Embossing folder is one from the monthly club I'm in at Spellbinders for embossing folders.  The oval, circle and arrow die cuts are from Sizzix.

Thanks for visiting and hopefully you didn't faint when you read my card.  I was aiming for laughs instead.  (Wink.)

E Is For Expletives Challenge Card

Don't look and click away if expletives offend you.  You have been warned...wink.
I couldn't resist joining The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for their E is for Expletives challenge.  I had the perfect friend to mail my card to but when my oldest daughter saw it....she HAD to have it for a friend of hers.  Being the good mom I am, I gave it to her.  Not only did she want that card but she requested a second one for another friend.  She couldn't stop laughing at the sentiment and knew her friends would laugh too.
The woman image is a stamp from Riley and Company and the sentiment is computer generated using a typewriter font.  The embossing folder is one from my Spellbinders monthly club I'm in.  The circles and arrow die cuts are by Sizzix.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you weren't too shocked by my funny card.

Noel Shaker Card

New Jingle Belles Challenge went up today and it is to have something transparent on your card.  I decided to make a shaker card which has a clear acetate window.  The stamps are from an older Simon Says Stamp set.  I used an older Sizzix die to create the shaker part.  I used heavy weight cardstock and cut out several to adhere together.  If you adhere enough of them together you won't have to use foam tape to create the depth needed for the sequins to "shake."  The final topping was cut from white glitter fun foam (along with the word die cut).  A stamped sentiment and bam....one less Christmas card to worry about next December!

I'm linking this shaker card up at these fun challenges:

Not Saying You're Old Birthday Card

Rainy February days are good for card making.  I spent a pleasant morning in my craft room working (or should I say playing...wink).  I wanted to do a card for the current Time Out Challenges which has a birthday theme.  They are celebrating their 9th birthday!  That's quite an achievement!  I stenciled a colorful background on a die cut using Distress Oxide ink pad plus a stencil from my stash.  Colored the stamped cat image with alcohol marker and stamped a sentiment.  Easy peasy.  This one is going to a family friend who has birthday coming up in a few days.  I think he will get a smile out of it.  I'm linking up my funny cat at these challenges:

Thanks for dropping by and hope you have a crafty weekend planned.

Enjoy The Ride Card

There is a new challenge blog which I wanted to make a card for.  It is A Barrel of Monkeys Challenges and each challenge will use children's toys and games as the inspiration.  For the first challenge, the game of Barrel of Monkeys was chosen.  I used the primary colors from the game plus a monkey image from Reverse Confetti in my stash (or should I say "hoard") of stamps.  The squares and circle die cuts were created used Sizzix dies.  I have a young friend (age of 8) who will be getting this card for some happy mail.  I'm also linking this fun monkey up at Simon Says Stamp Monday's new challenge "Things With Wheels."  Thanks for stopping by to visit on this happy Monday and remember to stay crafty!

Large "Bauble" Christmas Card

It's a crafty play day where I did a holiday card for five fun challenges.  I like nothing better than seeing what I can come up with combining challenges.  It makes me put on my thinking cap which is always a good idea....don't want my "cap" to get dusty.  (Wink.)   The image is from an older Stampin'Up set (Christmas In The Making) and the sentiment is from Purple Onion Designs (Holiday Messages).  The embossing folder is one I got from Spellbinders in their monthly embossing folder club (for 2D folders).  I love this club!  You get a pretty embossing folder each month but what I love most is the size of these folders.  They are 5.5 x 8.5 inches which is a wonderful size!  The large die cut bauble was cut with my Silhouette Cameo (Stitched Bauble #96779).  And just like that...one less Christmas card to make when the holidays roll around again.  I'm linking this one up at:

Rainy Days and Wednesdays Cards

All my crafty days lately seem to be rainy days but that suits me just fine.  I can stay inside on a cold rainy day and be perfectly happy in my craft room.  I'm sure my cardmaking friends can relate. (Wink.)  First card I did was a birthday card for an upcoming friend's birthday.  I did pretty pink stenciling of polka dots (Honey Bee Stamps stencil) with Distress Oxide ink.  The stamps are by Unity Stamp Company (image) and Riley & Company (sentiment).  My vintage lady will be joining these fun challenges:

I'm working on Christmas cards all through the year so I won't be caught short next December.   The above card was done for the new Jingle Belles Challenge of embossing (either dry or wet).  I used a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder on white cardstock.  I decided to only use two colors -- white and a silver foil board cardstock.  I die cut two white wreaths and one silver wreath and arrange on the top portion.  Then used a sentiment diecut at bottom cut from the silver foil board.  For the finishing touch, I used a baker's twine which has white and silver for a bow on the wreath. I also added a few Jolee's Boutique sequined silver snowflake stickers around the die cut wreath.  I'm linking this card up at:

My last  card was inspired by the new Double D Challenge of Birds.  I had purchased the Concord and 9th  Toucan Paradise a few months ago but had never used it.  What better challenge than to get it inky for!  I also "framed it" for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  The die cut leaves were done with my Silhouette Cameo (#424587 Jungle Party -- Light Green Leaves).  I heat embossed the sentiment with white powder on black cardstock.  The stamped flower centers also have a touch of orange Stickles dabbed on.  I'm linking this "wild" toucan up at:

Thanks for dropping by and checking out my rainy day creations.  I hope you are having a nice warm and dry day!  I'm off to do some rainy day reading (my other favorite past time).

Rainy Day Crafting

If I tell you it rained all day yesterday, believe me!  (Wink.)  Decided it would be a great day to stay in and be crafty in my warm and dry craft room.  The first card I did was for the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge which is "hearts" in February.  I decorated two patterned paper mug die cuts with hearts plus used a heart embossing fold on the green cardstock background.

Next I made a quick card for the newest Jingle Belles challenge of "Stuck On You" (use a sticker).  I was shocked (wink) to discover I hardly own any Christmas stickers!  How could that be?  Ha-Ha  I did finally find the cute pickup truck sticker which I "think" came from Dollar General a couple of years ago.  Found the perfect sentiment for it and it will be ready to go in December.  No more catching me NOT READY!!!

Last but certainly not least, I made a card for Time Out Challenges (see graphic above) and also Woodblock Wednesday over at the fabulous Amy Tsura's blog (Tsura Designs).  I used the Team Tie Dye paper pad by Honeybee Stamps, Mona Heart Face woodblock stamp and a Tim Holtz sentiment sticker.  Thanks for dropping in to see my rainy days creations.
