Happy Valentine's Day Card

Enjoyed some crafty time this morning playing with the new Freshly Made Sketch up today.  I'm still making Valentine cards as I like to mail them to all my crafty and non-crafty friends.  :)  I used some older Gina K Designs stamps along with my Silhouette Cameo to cut the two circle diecuts.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder to emboss the red heart circle.  Easy peasy and CAS card.  I'm linking this one up at:

Thanks for stopping by and remember stay crafty....get to making those Valentine cards!  :)

Cupid Valentine's Day Card

Hope you are having a great weekend.  It has been a cold one here but that is a perfect excuse to hang out in a warm craft room.  :)  I made a card with a new stamp set I won recently.  I also won the matching dies and pretty sequins.  I won by commenting during a new release blog hop at Jeanne Jachna's blog "A Kept Life."  This set is Cupid Friends by Pretty Pink Posh.  Thank you Jeanne and Pretty Pink Posh for a fun afternoon getting inky.  :)  These Cupids want to take aim at the following challenges:

Look What Santa Brought Me Challenge Card

There is a new challenge up at Jingle Belles called "Look What Santa Brought Me."  It's all about using what Santa brought you for Christmas (or what you bought yourself).  :)  I got surprised on Christmas day by my oldest daughter when I opened up a complete set of Karin Pro Brushmarkers.    So the Jingle Belles challenge was the perfect time for me to try them out for the first time.
I didn't know what to expect using them for the first time.  So I stamped the image on watercolor paper but next next I will try a smooth white cardstock instead.  I love these markers!!!!  The pen tip is sort of a hard but soft sponge like material and the color goes on very vibrant!  Since this was my first time to use them, I decided to go with a simple design.  I also had a new ink pad to try out by Gina K Designs.  After Christmas, I got a complete set of Gina K dye ink pads plus a black in her Amagram ink (there was a great sale plus Christmas gift money burning a hole in my pocket).  ;)

Here is the finished result of my first attempt with the new markers.  I added washi tape down each side of the stamped images plus twine bows on the wreaths.  Fun card to make and I love being a little more prepared for next Christmas (wink.)  Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty.....hope you got new craft "toys" for Christmas too.  ;)

Love Circle Valentine Card

Another dreary winter day outside but nice and warm in my craft room.  :)  I did a card for the new Freshly Made Sketch Challenge which went up today.  First I cut a large circle word die cut using my Silhouette Cameo (#12967 'Love' Circle in the Silhouette Design Store) and red cardstock.  I adhered it to a black cardstock card base.  I cut a circle from white cardstock and embossed it with a heart pattern (Sizzix embossing folder).  This was glued inside the circle word die cut.  I adhered a stamped (and colored) image plus sentiment to the embossed circle. The stamps are by Reverse Confetti (Heart Pals).  A twine bow and red Stickles applied to the heart balloon images were the finishing touches.  Fun card to make.  Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty.....enjoy these winter days in the craft room!  :)

Stenciled Hearts Valentine Card

Super rainy and stormy morning in my neck of the woods so spending time in my craft room was welcome.  The CAS Stencil Challenge is use a new stencil.  I cut a new hearts stencil with my Silhouette Cameo using clear blank stencil plastic I found at Amazon.  I used a red ink pad to apply color to the card base in the upper right corner.  A stamped (and colored) image with stamped sentiment (Reverse Confetti) along with a touch of patterned paper completes this simple card.  Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty.....and play in your craft room when it is raining.  :)

Gift Wrap Santa Card

I'm sharing my last card I did for the current "No Time Like The Presents" challenge at Jingle Belles.  The challenge is to use Christmas paper (new or saved from Christmas) on your card.  My Santa on this card is from a roll of paper I wrapped with this year.  But I did save some for cards because I loved the big vintage Santa.  I carefully trimmed the Santa image and Mod Podged him onto a thick watercolor paper.  After he dried, I applied a couple of coats of Aleen's Paper Glaze.    I was very pleased with the end results.  (I also did extra Santas to turn into ornaments for my Santa tree next year too.)  There was a little more "work" to this wrapping paper Santa card but I think it was worth it.  Thanks for dropping by and remember to stay crafty (and don't stop believing.....if you do, you get underwear for Christmas).  ;)

Funny Christmas Vacation Card

Do you have a favorite Christmas movie?  :)  It is a Christmas Eve tradition at our house that my girls and I watch Christmas Vacation before we go to sleep.  My youngest found Christmas Vacation wrapping paper at Dollar Tree and had one of my presents wrapped with it.  Of course I unwrapped it very carefully to save the paper.  I cut out the Chevy Chase (or in the movie Clark) image three times to create the border at the bottom.  The die cut cap and letters are from the Silhouette Design Store (#308260 Funny Christmas Vacation Quote).  I added some snowflake sequins (or spangles...not sure which to call them) and a twine bow for the finishing touch.  I even know who is going to get this card next Christmas too.  We have some friends that watch the movie on Christmas Eve too and are big fans of it.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hope your day has been a good one and remember to stay crafty (you serious, Bev?)  Wink.

Merry Reindeer Card

This is the third image I cut from a roll of leftover Christmas wrapping paper to make cards for the Jingle Belles "No Time Like The Presents" challenge.  (There was a Santa and also a snowman image on this roll of paper.  I've already posted them.)  I used some sentiment stamps by Jillibean Soup (the Merry) and My Favorite Things (Oh Deer....).  Easy peasy and bam.....another card for next Christmas!  Thanks for visiting and remember to stay crafty....watch out for slurpee drinking deer too!  :)

Stacked Penguins Card

Having more penguin fun today for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge and their Penguin Parade challenge.  I used the stamp set Penguin Pals by Pretty Pink Posh.  The patterned paper is from a paper stack by Recollections I got at Michael's before Christmas.  Since one of my penguins is wearing his toboggan hat, I thought it was a nice fit.  :)  Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to visit.  Remember to stay crafty and watch out for cute penguins!  :)

Merry Wishes Penguins Card

I'm still playing with bits of leftover Christmas wrapping paper on my card making.  The borders on this card are from some Charlie Brown gift paper one of my presents was wrapped in.  Along with the cute Charlie Brown and Snoopy characters on the paper, it had several knitted looking borders.  I love the look it added to this card.  :)  The stamps and sentiments are from Pretty Pink Posh (Penguin Pals).  The embossing folder and diecuts are by Sizzix.  Bam)....One less card to make next Christmas!  ;)  These fun penguins are going to skate by:

Ho Ho Ho Santa Card

Sharing a another card I did for the Jingle Belles "No Time Like The Presents" challenge.  Since my word die cut was long shaped, I decided this card needed to be a 4 inch by 9 inch.  I trimmed the Santa image from leftover Christmas paper and adhered to a patterned paper panel.  I did a large twine bow and adhere to patterned paper for the finishing touch.  Easy peasy card!  :)  I'm off to a good start with my cards for next Christmas.  Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty.

Eat, Drink & Be Merry Card

Happy New Year!  This is my favorite holiday!  All of the Christmas decorations have been packed away and my house is clean.  I love to craft and watch the Rose Parade.  The first challenge of the new year is up at Jingle Belles and I couldn't wait to make a card for it!  :)  The challenge is called "No Time Like The Presents" and calls for you to use wrapping paper on your creation.  My snowman on this card is from a roll I used to wrap presents this past Christmas.  I didn't use all the roll and it was the first one I grabbed for this challenge.  It has cute characters all eating something yummy (a snowman, a reindeer and a Santa) on done on a tan background.  I trimmed the snowman from the paper (and look out for a reindeer and Santa card later).  ;)  I found the perfect sentiment for the image (since he is eating a popsicle).  It is from a new stamp set I ordered from Scrapbook.com (Christmas Fun Card Sentiments).  The background was done by dry embossing a snowflake pattern and rubbing the raised snowflakes with Versamark.  Next I heat embossed with white powder before using Ken Oliver Colorburst powders.  I glued some star sequins and a bow for the finishing touch.  So I'm off and running getting ready for next Christmas!!!!!  ;)  Remember to stay crafty and Happy New Year!
