Snowman Face Card

Spent some morning time in the crafty cave working on a Christmas card.  I used a new stamp which was wanting to get "inky."  The stamp is by Woodware Craft Collection (Mr. Frosty).  I colored it with alcohol markers.  I'll link it up at the following fun challenges:

Thanks for visiting.  Hope your Tuesday is going well and remember to stay crafty!

Listen To Your Mummy Card

I love making all kinds of cards but I think my very favorite to make are Halloween.  I've been in my craft room the last couple of days getting started on this year's Halloween cards to mail.  I mail a lot to friends and they say they look forward to seeing them each year!  I have a young friend in elementary school which I think this card will be perfect for!  I'm linking these fun mummies up at:

Floral Background Stamp Card

I needed a thank you card for a friend and decided to make it fit several fun challenges.  I used the Simon Says Stamp (Floral Mix Background Stamp) for the main image.  I colored it with alcohol markers.  I used white fun foam and a thanks die for the sentiment.  I also used a ric rac die at the top and bottom plus a floral embossing folder.  These bright flowers will be linking up at:

Thanks for dropping by.  Hope your weekend was filled with crafty pleasures.

What The Elf Card

I have not been in my crafty cave all week!  What the elf indeed!  (Wink!)  There is a new challenge up at Jingle Belles calling for cards inspired by a favorite Christmas movie.  My bunch "discovered" they like the movie Elf a few years ago after ignoring it for many years.  Now it's not Christmas unless we watch Buddy and all his shenanigans before the big day.  I used an older Sizzix window die from my hoard of supplies.  Then I used my Silhouette Cameo to make the elf legs and hat.  I cut them from white cardstock and then simply colored with alcohol markers.  The sentiment is computer generated using a vintage typewriter font.

I'm linking this clumsy elf card up at:

Thanks for dropping in.  Hope you are enjoying the autumn weather.  I wish I could say it was cooler here but it is still hot this week!  Oh well, just a good excuse to stay in and read good books.  Speaking of good books, I finished Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll yesterday!  It was an add on book I added to my September Book of the Month order.  I'm so glad I got it because it is very very good!  If you like mystery/suspense/thriller books, then look into reading Bright Young Women.

Life Of The Party Card

I am beyond excited to be guest designing for The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.  Their newest challenge is "V Is For Vivid."  I immediately thought of backgrounds I recently did with Ken Oliver Color Bursts when my friend Stephanie visited.  We spent one of our mornings playing with watercolor powders and creating backgrounds for future projects.  I picked out the most vivid one to design my card around.  I used a stitched rectangle die to trim it (The Stamps of Life Stitched Rectangle).  The stamps used are by AALL & Create (Party Time Dee).

Thanks so much for stopping by and getting VIVID with me.

Pumpkin House Card

With a glorious rainy morning which meant I got out of watering flowers outside, I headed to my craft room.  I wanted to get a head start on my Halloween cards as I like to mail several to friends.  I used the Woodware Craft Collection Pumpkin House stamp set.  I had stamped the image a few nights ago and colored with alcohol markers while watching tv.  I find this relaxing plus it helps make cards faster having detailed images already colored.  The oval die is by Spellbinders.  This pumpkin house is going to link up at these fun challenges:

Thank you for visiting and remember to enjoy those rainy days in your craft room!

Holiday Hug In A Mug Card

Rainy day crafting going on at my house this morning and let me say it was WONDERFUL!  I love a good sketch to get the creative mojo going.  Jingle Belles has a great one for their current challenge.  I also wanted to join the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge for September which has a cookies and candy theme.

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge  (Coffee + Candy or Cookies)

Thanks for dropping by.  I seem to be on a Reese's Book Club "kick."  I just finished her August selection Tom Lake (and enjoyed it very much).  Today I started Reese's July selection of Cassandra in Reverse by Holly Smale.  It has made me smile a few times so I know I'm going to like it.  What is the last book which made you smile?  Better get going as I have reading to do!

Boo To You Embossed Background Card

Woke up to a rainy morning which was a very nice surprise!  After hurrying through my household chores and walking outside for exercise (carrying an umbrella), I headed to my craft room.  There were fun challenges to inspire me and here is my first creation.  Can You Handle The Pressure? has an optional trees theme this time.  I've started working on Halloween cards and remembered an older Sizzix embossing folder in my stash.  It has a tree on the left side of the folder.  I embossed it on orange polka dot paper.  The dry embossing shows up better "in person."  (I photographed the actual embossing folder so you could see all the detail better.)

I'm also linking this card up at Colorful Options Challenge which is celebrating Outrageous Orange for the month of September.

AND the boos will be linking up at Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge too.

Thanks for dropping by.  For those of you who like to read, I finished the newest book by Ann Patchett yesterday Tom Lake.  I loved it and would rate it 5 stars.  My copy was borrowed from the library (a digital copy read on my Kindle Oasis).  Remember your local libraries and USE them.  That's all my wisdom for today....wink.

Retro "Hop" Card

Still hot and humid in Alabama so playing in my craft room is definitely more fun than being outside.  I love my new Fifties Dee stamp set by AALL & Create and the retro challenge at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is perfect for it.  Thanks for dropping by and stay cool daddy-o!

Let It Snow Card

I can't resist a good sketch challenge so was happy to see the newest Jingle Belles Challenge is "Merry SKETCH-mas.  I decided to go with a snow themed card for the sketch.  I'll also be linking this card up at Christmas Kickstart Challenge which has a "Chillin' With My Snowmies" theme.

Thanks for dropping by.  I was hoping September would bring cooler weather but so far it is still hot and humid in my area.  So it was fun imagining being in snow with this card....wink.

Retro and Vintage Cards

I hope you are having a great Labor Day weekend.  It has been a fun one here getting in the last joys of summer with pool time, fixing yummy foods to eat, reading good books and just a little card making.  The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers has a new challenge of R is for Retro.  I couldn't resist seeing what I could come up with for it.  I used a photo stamp of a 1950's glamour gal from Time To Stamp (have had it for years in my stash).  If you stamp the photo stamps on glossy white cardstock, they look almost like "real photos."  The sentiment was computer generated using a retro typewriter font.  Easy peasy but fun card.

Next I wanted to create a card for the current Jingle Belles vintage card challenge.  I used some older cling stamps by Hampton Art (Graphic 45 Twas The Night Before Christmas set).  Christmas embossing folder by Spellbinders (monthly embossing folder club) and oval diecut by Spellbinders made for a fast and easy card.  My sweet daughter cooked supper for us tonight so I was able to slip in my craft room to make these two cards this afternoon since the "cook" had the night off (wink).  Thanks for dropping by and a big
Happy Labor Day to you and yours.
