First Foil Quill Bird Card

I finally got my Foil Quill and here is the first card I created with it.  I used a dark royal blue foil on a bright green cardstock.  I used a design from the Silhouette Design Store to create the leaves in the background.

Hopefully you can see how pretty the foiling is in the background.  I've always had problems getting foiled papers to show up as good in the photograph as in person.  You may have to use your imagination.  (Wink.)

I even foiled a matching envelope for this card using the same pattern.  You can find the Laurel Leaf Sketch pattern here.  I'm going to enter this card at these challenges:

Without Coffee Tag/Card

I managed a few minutes in my craft room this morning and created for "Tag, You're It #83."  I couldn't resist because it is polka dots.  Just called me a polka dot gal because I love them.  :)  I used a new Essentials by Ellen stamp set called "A Breve Note."  I have a thing for collecting coffee themed stamp sets.  The pretty yellow polka dot paper is by Jillibean Soup (All About Dots).  I colored the cup image with Copic markers and highlighted the flowers with yellow Stickles.

Most of the time I like to put the tags I make on a card. :)  Below is the finished card all ready to mail to a friend for "happy mail."

Never To Old To Party Card

The new Art Impressions challenge is a fun one called "Cutting Edge."  I recently bought the new Art Impressions stamp set called Never Too Old.

I LOVE this set stamp set with its funny sentiments and woman image.  I can see making lots of humorous cards with it.

I used  Sizzix Card Basic Step-Ups die to create my card.  I cut the card from a bright green cardstock.  The patterned paper is by Die Cuts With A View from a stack in my stash.

I stamped four sentiments with black ink on white cardstock.  I stamped the image on white cardstock with black ink and colored it with alcohol markers (Copic and Spectrum Noir).  I fussy cut out the image and then adhered all to the card as shown.  A twine bow and a few sequins were all it needed for the finishing touches.

I had this card sitting on our kitchen island when my husband came home.  He had lots of compliments for it.  He thought I had designed the card with its cuts and folds.  I didn't have the heart to tell him I'm not that talented plus I was enjoying the praise.  ;)  I'll tell him "later."  (Big wink.)

I went a head and stamped an envelope for it too.  One of my friends has a birthday coming up in April and I think it will be perfect for her.  We like sending funny cards to each other.  :)    This partying lady is joining these challenges:

Home Loving Penguins Card

New challenge is up at Jingle Belles and it is "put a bird on it."  I created a scene using Impression Obsession  (Holiday Home) with the cute penguin stamps in that set.  Fun card to make with just a little alcohol ink coloring, patterned paper, Stickles and snowflake spangles.  Thank you Jingle Belles for keeping me on track with my cards for Christmas 2019!  ;)  These home loving penguins will be linking up at:

Musical Christmas Cats Card

Want to guess what my caroling cats are singing?  Hark the Herald Angels Sing of course!  Now I know you are shaking your head and wondering how I came up with that song.  ;)  It is because the current challenge at Jingle Belles is "Hark the Herald Angels Sing."  See I am not "losing it."  ;)  The challenge wants to see music notes, sheet music or instruments.  I stenciled the music background with a black ink pad on red cardstock.  Those adorable singers and sentiment are by Newton's Nook (Caroling Newton).  The word die is by Simon Says Stamp (Fa La La).  Throw in some striped sequins, red/black twine and bam....one less Christmas card to make next December!  :)  These singing cuties are going to link up at:

St. Patrick's Day Tag

I'm joining the action at Tag, You're It Challenge #82 today.  I have always loved making St. Patrick's Day tags and cards!  There is something about all that green and cute leprechauns which just says FUN!  I've gone all out this year and made fourteen St. Patrick's Day cards.  There will be lots of green showing up in my friends mailboxes soon.  :)  I started by die cutting a tag (Sizzix) and embossing it.  The embossing folder is an old one by Darice which was still in its plastic wrapper (how exciting to find "new" old stuff in the craft room...wink)  The cute leprechaun image is by Whimsy Stamps and the sentiment is one I cut apart by Studio G (Hampton Art).  The two stickers are by Jolee's Boutique and ribbon was in my stash (sorry I can't remember who made it).  Thanks for stopping by and seeing green with me.  ;)  This mischievous leprechaun will be linking up at:

Unique and Striped Cards

I have a couple of challenge cards today.  It was a very rainy weekend so I stayed nice and dry in my craft room.  :)  My first card was done with the Time Out Challenges in mind.  Their challenge is a word prompt one and the word is "unique."  I designed my "unique" word die cut on the Silhouette Cameo.  I cut three of the words from black cardstock and adhered them together for added depth.  With a Q-tip I added Stickles glitter glue in purple.  Will be linking this card to:

Inkspirational (Use Your Stash)

My second card I did for a black and white with a touch of color swap I joined with some other crafty ladies.  The mermaid image and sentiment is by Unity stamps.  The banner image is by Waffle Flower Crafts.  After doing just a little coloring, I used clear glaze over the bottle the mermaid is holding.  The striped paper is by Echo Park Paper Company.  I'll be linking this card at:
