Tulips Thank You Card

Tulips Thank U Card
My tulips thank you card fits two challenges posted yesterday. It is based on the Card Patterns #68 sketch and it also uses the colors of pink, amethyst and celery green for the challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges. All the papers are by Martha Stewart (also the gingham bow). The diecuts are by Sizzix. The tulip image is a rub-on by Royal & Langnickel (also the alphabet rub-ons). The brads are by Basic Grey and I also used some circle punches by EK Success. Thanks for stopping by....this is my second post for the day. I guess I better get off the computer and get dinner started. How about some ham, home-made potato salad, fresh cream corn and biscuits? Sounds good to me, I'm starving. :)

Fore You Dearest Father Card

Fore You Father Card
"The Greatest Game Ever Played" is the movie at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge this week. The challenge requirement was to use argyle somewhere on your creation. I remembered a stamp I had by Stampabilities that was perfect for this movie. The papers are Diecuts With A View and the argyle embossing folder is by Sizzix. All the chipboard is by Fancy Pants. The flowers are by Prima Marketing and the brads are by The Paper Studio (found at Hobby Lobby.) The arrows are done with a punch from Stampin'Up! Hope your Sunday has been a good one. We've had a relaxing afternoon at home. Know it is summertime because we cut a delicious seedless watermelon. :) The girls and I are also getting geared up to watch the third season of True Blood which starts tonight. It is on HBO and is one of those good "bad" series. :) Course we are going to have to sit up late to do it. Our cable is messed up and we're only getting HBO West...grrrrrrr. :) Maybe we will get it fixed tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by....visit again soon.

Live In The Heart Of Others Card

Sympathy Three
The new Charisma Cardz challenge is to have dots and stripes on your creation. I was looking at my new papers by BoBunny from their Peacock Lane collection and found just the right mix. The Peacock Lane colors are teal, purple and chartreuse plus I found a dotted and a stripe. Course that means it was fate for me to do the Charisma Cardz challenge. (Inserting a BIG wink here.) :) I used a circular paper from the note/worthy booklet too. The stamped sentiment and ink color are by Stampin'Up!. The flower is by Prima Marketing and the brad is Basic Grey. My bunch are off to see Carrie Underwood in concert tonight. I'm sure they will have a fun time. I'm not much of a country music fan so a quiet night making cards, watching movies, reading, etc. sounded better to me. :) That has to be a sure sign of getting old. :) Now if it had been The Eagles, Rob Thomas, etc. etc., it would have been a different story. :) Thanks for stopping by and visit again soon.

Merci Beaucoup Card

Merci Beaucoup
Daring Cardmakers has a fun challenge posted called "The World Is Your Oyster." You are to make a card celebrating different countries, cultures, etc. I knew I wanted to join in on this one the second I read about it. I chose "Paris" as my destination. :) Paris has long been a favorite theme of mine to work with. I had gotten some new printed tags by 7 Gypsies in the mail yesterday. One of them had a beautiful vintage Eiffel Tower on it. The patterned paper is by October Afternoon (from their Thrift Shop collection). The alphabet rub-on letters and rubber stamps are by Royal & Langnickel. The embossing folder is by Sizzix (Tim Holtz). The black flower is by Imaginisce. Has your Friday been as busy as mine? Whew, I'm glad to finally get to sit down. :) We called and ordered HBO to be installed on our cable yesterday. The serviceman arrived this morning and installed the "box." Happy that we could watch the third season of "True Blood" premiering soon. We were supposed to have ten different channels of HBO but not all of them were working when I turned the TV on. Now the serviceman has to return. We'll be able to watch the premier Sunday night but it will have to be on HB0 West. This means it will come on three hours later. Guess we will be sitting up late. :) There is a chance we'll get it fixed tomorrow but I'm not betting on that since it is a Saturday. At least some of the channels are working. Thanks for stopping by. :)

Forever Friend Card

Forever Friend Card
You know the old saying, the early bird gets the worm. :) Well, in this case the early bird made a card. Got up early and went in my studio because I knew there was going to be a lot of "Saturday errands." It is based on the sketch at Card Patterns.
Crazy 4 Challenges has a call for cards with "pleats." The Etsy Inspired challenge is showcasing howbeadyful The pretty stamp is by Stamp Francisco. The cardstock is by American Crafts and the flowers are by Prima Marketing. The brads are by Doodlebug Design. Thanks for stopping by. I better get lunch on the table. My girls had a "yard sale" in town this morning. They're due home and I know they will be tired and hungry (and hopefully "rich." Wink, wink!) :)

Tulips Sympathy Card

Tulips Sympathy Card
I'm hanging my head in shame as I type this. I had hoped to do a card a day for one of the challenge sites. I had visions of setting a record (wink) but only lasted 15 days. :) Of course starting this in the summer was not the smartest move. School is out and both my girls are home. I also have "caregiver" to add to my resume. My mother lives with us since her stroke in November. Throw in some unexpected things and there goes my "world record." :) Maybe I should just say I'm going to do a card challenge as often as I can. :) Today's card fits three challenge sites: Creative Card Crew's of pink and green, Daring Cardmakers of using pearls and Friday Sketchers (based on a sketch). The card has a rub-on by Royal & Langnickel, pearls and flower are by Prima Marketing and the brads are by Making Memories. The cardstock is by American Crafts while the image is by Crafty Secrets. Thanks for stopping by and have a great Friday night. We are having a family game night plus movie night. Going to play some Gin Rummy and then watch the movie "Precious" that I had on the 'ole Netflix list. Been wanting to see that one for a long time.

The [Stamps] Of Life June Release/kites2fly

Stamps Of Life June Release
Kite Graduation Card
Wow, the months are speeding by. It is June, can you believe it? :) I always look forward to this month. I get to spend lots of time with both my girls out of school and college. Course I always look forward to the 1st day of a new month because that is when new stamps are released by The [Stamps] Of Life. ;) This month's set is a super cute one called "kites2fly." I am probably repeating myself but if you have not tried these clear stamps, you are missing out! They are some of the best ones I have ever used. When you stamp with them you get crisp clear images (the kind you expect with a wooden stamp). It is so much fun to see what comes in the mail too when you join Stephanie's stamp of the month club. I can't wait to see each month's release! :) New "rubbah" in the house is always exciting. :) OK, the above card also has some patterned paper by American Crafts. The graduation hat brads are some by Around The Block. The "Happy Graduation" was stamped with [Stamps} Of Life alphabet stamps too.
Kite Fourth Card
How about making your kites fly for a 4th of July card? This one has patterned papers by Diecuts With A View plus clear Dymo tape sentiments. (Created with the Dymo Caption Maker which is one of my favorite reach "toys.") :)
Kite Congrats
Or you can make a "Congrats" card with your kite set. The "tail" on this kite is a Sizzlit border die (as well as the loopy border). The cardstock is dotted Swiss by Bazzill.
Go Fly A Kite Card
I love the sentiment "Go Fly A Kite." This one is fast and easy (cause you need those in the summer). :) Tried a new color combo of a deep purple and a mossy green. Not sure I like it.....hmmmmm, what do you think? :) It is prettier in person but my limited photography skills don't show it as well. :) Anyone want to volunteer to take my pictures? Wink. :)
