Mix It Up Card

Kitchen ShowerThe challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week is to have food or drink on your card. I had to ponder on what image I could use when I remembered a Crafty Secret booklet I had called "Homemade." It is filled with wonderful vintage images that would fit this challenge nicely. The papers are by Diecuts With A View, the alphabet stickers are by My Little Shoebox and the trim is by Chatterbox. It also has a flower by Prima Marketing, brad by Basic Grey and rub-on alphabet letters by Sizzix.
While we are on the subject of "food and drink", have you ever done "Baked French Toast"? It is one of those recipes that you can do ahead (let it sit in the fridge overnight) and then bake the next day. I did it this weekend for a special Sunday morning breakfast. My oldest daughter was home from college and I wanted to do something a little special. :) All of us loved it! I even fixed another one tonight and it is going to be our dinner tomorrow night (along with some fruit and sauage). We like to have "breakfast suppers" ever so often. :) Super easy (which is always a winner with me). Now I'll have more time to make cards! :)

Birdhouse Challenge Card

Basic Grey Birdhouse
The challenge at Daring Cardmakers this week is to have a bird or birds on your creation. Perfect timing since I just got some cute stacked stickers by Basic Grey that had a birdhouse. :) The papers, brads and sticker are from the new Kioshi collection. The flowers are by Prima Marketing while the alphabet rub-ons are by Sizzix.
We had some beautiful weather here today and tomorrow is supposed to be even better.
It is definitely starting to feel like spring!!! :) Hope your week is going well and stop by again soon. :)

Garden Party

Garden Party
This card is one I did for the photo inspiration challenge over at Caardvarks. The photo reminded me of all the pretty papers in the new DCWV stack called Mariposa. It is filled with lots of beautiful butterfly and birdcage papers. It also has some flowers by Prima, a diecut by Sizzix and ribbon by American Crafts. The butterfly brads are some I have had for a long time and never used before. I thought it was time for them to take "flight." :) It also has a rubber stamp by Hampton Art, alphabet stickers by My Little Shoebox and a border punch by EK Success.
I hope your week is off to a great start. I've had a busy one and was looking forward to watching the premier of a new show on F/X tonight called "Justified." I managed to get everything done in time to get comfy on the couch. When we swapped over to our F/X channel, we had the best picture but the sound was messed up (cable was acting up for some reason). Needless to say I missed the first episode! :)

The [Stamps] Of Life March Release

I always think the first of March is a sure sign that spring cannot be too far away. Old man winter is not giving up easy though. There is snow predicted for us tomorrow. :) I want to share some cards I did with the March release by The [Stamps] Of Life. It seems I am always in need of a thank you card and this set is a great one for making up fast and easy cards. I'm going to keep this post short as I have a sick teenager with a stomach virus. Cross your fingers, toes and eyes (ouch) that "mom" does not catch it. :)
