This Little Piggy Birthday Card

I'm playing in the new Tag You're It! Challenge.  I love making tags and then adding them to a card.  The above is my tag before I made the card for it.  The stamps are by Hello Bluebird (Pig Day).  The tag die cut is by Memory Box.

Here is my finished card using the tag I made for the Tag You're It! Challenge #81.  The embossing folder is by Sizzix.  This little piggy is linking up at:

Color Burst Stenciled Leaves Card

Do you ever purchase a crafty supply and not immediately use it?  :)  Please tell me I am not alone.  After purchasing a package of Ken Oliver's Color Burst powders ages ago (maybe two or three years even), I finally got around to using them.  What fun!  I got several of my stencils out and experimented using Color Burst with them.  After taping a stencil to heavy watercolor paper, I sprinkled Color Burst lightly over the stencil. Next I lightly spritzed it with water and then carefully removed the stencil.  I love the results!  The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge for this week is "No Stamps."  I put this card together with that challenge in mind.  The leaves are stenciled (stencil by Ranger/Dylusions) with Color Burst (Carribean Brights) and the die cut sentiment is cut from green fun foam.  I found the perfect patterned paper in one of my older DCWV paper stacks as the card base.  I adhered a few green sequins and tied green hemp twine bows for the finishing touch.  Thanks Simon Says for making me finally use my Ken Oliver Color Burst.  :)  I'm linking this card at:

Musical Cards

It has rained all day so it seemed like the perfect weather for a day of crafty fun.  My first card is for the Cut It Up Challenge of "Inspired By A Love Song."  One of my favorite love songs is "Color My World" by the rock band Chicago.  If you are unfamiliar with it, go give it a listen here.  :)  I stenciled a colorful background with Distress Oxide ink pads.  I cut the treble clef with my Silhouette and stamped the world image (Fiskars).  For the sentiment, I used a Dymo label maker and adhered a few sequins for the finishing touches.  I used to be able to play Color My World on the piano but haven't tried to in a few years....I may have to give it a try again soon.  :)  I'm linking this one to:

Cut It Up Challenge (Inspired By A Love Song)

My second card  is one I did for AAA Cards Clean and Simple Challenges.  The current challenge is "one corner + music."  I also kept the Jingle Belles "All That Glitters" challenge in mind.  I used a shiny gold metallic ink pad (Delicata Golden Glitz) to stencil music notes in the lower right corner (plus stamped the sentiment with same ink pad).  I colored the stamped caroling cat image (Gerda Steiner Designs Carol Kitten) and colored it with alcohol markers.  I fussy cut it out and adhered to corner with foam tape.  I used some gold foil cardstock to punch out three musical notes which were adhered around the cat image.  My photo does not show how pretty and shiny the ink and foil musical notes are (so please use your imagination....wink).  Fun card to make.  :)

Sloth Valentine's Card

Happy Valentine's Day!  I wanted to share the card I made for friends this year (plus my daughters).  :)  I kept it simple as I had several to make and of course I waited until the last minute.  ;)  I used my favorite color combo of black, white and red.  The sentiment I cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  The heart die cut is from a Sizzix Framelits set.  I used an older stamp set by Waffle Flower and embossing folder by Sizzix.  I found the striped sequins at Hobby Lobby a while back and they are some of my favorites to use.  My Valentine sloth will be hanging out at these challenges:

Round Christmas Reindeer Card

What does a rainy day at home mean?  It means I made one more card for the Jingle Belles shaped card challenge.  :)  I've had this Silhouette design for several months and this seemed the perfect time to try it out.  I cut the round card from green cardstock and the reindeer image from gold foil cardstock.  The design is so pretty I didn't want to take away from it with adding too much to the card.  I put a small gold rub-on sentiment, gold sequins and a gold metallic bow for the finishing touches.  Thanks Jingle Belles for a fun challenge.  I think I will be making more shaped cards in the future since they are enjoyable to create.  :)  My gold reindeer will be prancing by these challenges:

Shaped Ornament "Let It Snow" Card

I'm having way too much fun making shaped Christmas cards for the current Jingle Belles challenge.  :)  I've never made many shaped holiday cards but it is enjoyable (plus easy) with the Silhouette Cameo.  I had this ornament card in my stash of Silhouette Design Store patterns (A2 Snowflake Ornament Christmas Card).  I heat embossed the stamped sentiment with white embossing powder on red cardstock.  I put it on the card with foam tape for added dimension.  I added sequins (for sparkle) and a baker's twine bow for a quick and easy card.  I went ahead and put a sentiment inside it and stamped snowflakes on an envelope.  It is now ready to mail when Christmas rolls around.  This ornament is going to be decorating at:

Shaped Christmas Truck Card

I have another card for the Jingle Belles shaped card challenge called "Shaping Up For The New Year."  I used my Silhouette Cameo and a pattern called "Truck Christmas Tree by Studio Illustrado."  The sentiment stamp I used is by Unity Stamp Company.  I decorated the tree with metallic red small brads.  Fun card to make.  This red truck will be riding by:

Shaped Christmas Cardinal Card

I'm joining the Jingle Belle's Shaping Up For The New Year challenge again.  I'm having too much fun with it!  ;)  You are to make a shaped card (anything but a rectangle or square).  I've been wanting to make this cardinal since I purchased the pattern several months ago from the Silhouette Design Store.  This challenge is perfect for their "Cardinal Shaped A7 Card."  I added a black pearl for the bird's eye.  I also used red sequins for the berries on the holly.  Last I made a Dymo label sentiment and adhered it on a small Sizzix tag die with baker's twine.  Next Christmas I'll be mailing this one to my bird lovers friend.  :)   I'm linking my holiday bird up at:

Shaped Hipster Santa Card

I've taken a few days off from my cleaning and organizing home projects.  I'll get started again next week after I rest a few days.  But if I am honest, I missed making cards and needed some crafty time!  ;)  There is a fun challenge at Jingle Belles called "Shaping Up For The New Year."  It is all about making shaped holiday cards.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to create this hipster Santa.  The pattern is called "Santa Claus Motorcyclis Card" and can be found at the Silhouette Design Store.  The stamped sentiment is by Darcie's Clear Stamps (Happy Holla Days set).   We have a friend which rides motorcycles so I know who is getting this card for Christmas!  :)  This Santa is hip and will be riding to these challenges:

Shaped Santa Card

I have a quick post  because I am working on a home "tidying up" project.  I'm tackling some bathroom vanity cabinets today.  Not necessarily fun work but I'm liking the way it helps keep a tidy house once you finish.  :)  I'm enjoying creating shaped cards for the new Jingle Belles challenge called "Shaping Up For The New Year."  No rectangles or squares but instead "shaped cards" for this challenge.  This Santa card is from the Silhouette Design Store (A2 Santa Shaped Card).  I stamped a believe sentiment in the upper left corner of the card base.  How's that for a fun, fast and easy card?  Better go back to work and get those bathroom cabinets finished!  Jolly St. Nick will be joining these swaps:

Shaped Holidays House Card

I'm still in full Marie Kondo mode at my house.  After working for eight days in our walk-in closet, I'm doing smaller projects this week.  Little things so I can rest up and not get totally burned out.  I still have more closets to do but they can wait a few days.  There is a new challenge at Jingle Belles I couldn't wait to create for.  The new theme is "Shaping Up For The New Year" which means make a shaped holiday card.  I remembered a cute cutting pattern I purchased from the Silhouette Design Store (A2 Christmas House Shaped Card).  I found the perfect sentiment stamp (Reverse Confetti's Sweet Holiday).  Fun card to make and a whole lot more fun than cleaning closets!  ;)  I'm linking this shaped card at:

Goil Foiled Frame Valentine's Card

For the past seven days I have been cleaning out our master bedroom walk-in closet.   I have been inspired by Marie Kondo and the Tidying Up show on Netflix.   It was full of things which needed giving away (and it also needed a good cleaning).   I'm happy to say I finished it today!!!!  To celebrate, I headed to my craft room and made a card.  :)  I played with my Gemini Foil Press and did a diecut gold foiled frame.  I also used a gold foil cardstock, patterned polka dot paper, stamps by Unity. and washi tape too.  I did a touch of coloring with a pink Copic marker.  Fun card to make and just what I needed after working in that closet for a week (ugh).  These hearts are going to be joining these challenges:
