Owl Graduation Card

Due to lots of things going on, I have not been in my craft room in days.  I was happy to be able to slip in there for an hour today and make a card for Amy Tsurata's Woodblock Wednesday.  I was in need of  creative "therapy."  (Wink.)  The prize this time around at Woodblock Wednesday is a $50 gift certificate to Penny Black.  This is an awesome prize and I wanted to use a stamp by Penny Black.  Since it is nearly time to start thinking about graduation cards, I had the perfect woodblock stamp.  This is an older woodblock stamp from my stash called Very Wise Owl.  I actually found a new one for sale on eBay so if you love it like I do, then you might want to grab it.  I stamped the image on watercolor paper and colored using my Arteza Real Brush Pens.  I then fussy cut out the owl image and adhered it to a grey square diecut.  I mounted it next on a white cardstock panel I had stenciled with a blue ink.  This was attached to a grey cardstock card base.  I used my We R Memory Makers typewriter to do the sentiment plus added my signature bow.  Fun card to make and just the creative therapy time I needed!!!!  Thanks for dropping in and remember to get those woodblock stamps out and use them!!!!

Cardstock "Merry" Card

Even though it is spring, we have been having cold weather (freezing temperatures last night).  Perfect weather to be all snug and warm in my craft room.  I decided to make a card for the current Jingle Belles challenge of using only cardstock.  Why is it when you are told cardstock only, all you want to reach for is patterned paper?  (Wink.)  I used my Silhouette Cameo for this card and get this....there is no stamping on it!  I know, I know...I nearly fainted too!  The cutting pattern is called Merry Ornaments (#163297).  I used different snowflakes on my card than what is featured on the cutting design.  I opted to used older thin metal snowflake dies instead (sorry, not sure who makes them as I remove packaging and put dies on my magnetic "wall" for storage).  I glued a candy "sprinkle" from Kat Scrappiness (Merry & Bright Sprinkles) to the center of the snowflake die cuts.  Put my "signature" bow on too and BAM...one less card to make for Christmas, 2023!  Thanks for joining me on this chilly Monday.  Remember to stay crafty and warm!

Yuck Card

I am excited to be guest designing for The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.  The new challenge is Y is for Yuck.  What fun!  I created a rectangle shaped opening using a die cut to place over my white card base.  Then I stenciled the design using a Distress Oxide ink pad and brush.  I stamped the woman image (Miss Dee by AALL & Create) and colored her using alcohol markers.  I cut her out and placed over the stenciled rectangle using foam tape for added dimension.  The stamped sentiment is one from my stash from an older Dyan Reaveley Dylusions stamp set.  I used older Sizzix alphabet dies to cut the letters for "yuck."  Finished it off with a black and white baker's twine bow for a funny card which I will mail to a friend.  I hope you will join the fun at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers this challenge.  Thanks for getting yucky with me today....and remember staying in your craft room helps you to avoid PEOPLE.  (Wink.)

BANANAS Birthday Card

Had inky fun making a birthday card for a special someone who I wanted to send a card to this week.   Since there is a new challenge at The Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers, I decided to get "inky" with Edna. A lot of smushing, misting, blotting, etc. but I love the way my background turned out!  The stamp images are an older set in my stash by Gina K Designs.  I computer generated the sentiment with a typewriter font.

I'm joining these fun challenges:

Thanks for dropping in.  Hope your day is a good one.  I've been walking in the rain, crafting plus reading a good book...yep, nearly perfect day!
