One more entry for the Hero Arts Stay Crafty "By The Sea" Challenge. I'll have to give my youngest daughter a big hug for letting me borrow her cute stamp and die set. (Course she know where all my stamps are too....wink). Thanks for stopping by on this very hot day in Alabama...Remember to stay cool...I'm heading out to the pool in a few minutes with a good book!

My youngest daughter recently bought this cute Hero Arts stamp and die set at Tuesday Morning's. She was sweet and let me borrow it for the new Hero Arts Stay Crafty challenge of "By The Sea." I had such fun with it, I ended up making four different cards with this set. This is the first one I made with it. I cut the waves and sun with my Silhouette Cameo and patterns from their design store. I hope you are staying cool and enjoying the summer. I have lots of beautiful flowers blooming but with this heat I'm having to get up EARLY each morning to water all of them. Thanks for stopping by and have a cold drink on me!
Enjoying the air conditioning in my craft room today since it way too hot to be outside. The new challenge at Jingle Belles is called "The Man With The Bag." The Belles want a card with Santa on it. Back several months ago, I caught a great clearance sale at Hobby Lobby with dies and stamps over 70% off. I got a Santa and word die set by Momento which was perfect for the Santa challenge. The stamped sentiment is by Concorde & Nine. Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay cool.

The new Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge went up yesterday. This one is "T is for Tags." I used one of the sets I selected when I won a gift certificate from Topflight Stamps during the Spring/Summer Coffer Lovers Hop. How fun the Miss Dee images and sentiments are by AALL & Create! I love during funny cards and they are perfect! I used the set called Cougar Dee.
Don't faint but I have not been in my craft room in over a week! It's not that I didn't want to either. (Wink!)
I've been too busy with summer activities plus unexpected overnight guest (which meant extra cleaning and cooking). Finally managed crafty (or should I say therapy) time and created a card for the current Jingle Belles Ombre' Wonderland challenge. I have to confess the Ombre challenge gave me a hard time! I finally dug around in my box of paint chips from various stores and found a pretty one in greens. I was lucky and had two of these so I could die cut the squares plus the wavy die cut borders. I also found the clear Christmas sentiment stickers in my stash (are a Hobby Lobby brand package). So BAM, I had a card done quickly and one less to worry about when Christmas rolls around. Hope your day is going well and thanks for stopping by. Remember to stay crafty plus get outside to enjoy these pretty summer days! :)

After trying to get in my craft room all week, I finally managed to spend time in there today. Yay! I didn't get to "play" for very long but I did manage to relax, have fun and make a card. I am joining a few challenges with this card and used them to get my creative "mojo" going. The floral photo at the Inspiration Station Challenge really inspired me with the beautiful flowers. I used stamps (and dies) by Reverse Confetti. Here are the challenges this card will be blooming at:

I was lucky and won a gift certificate to Topflight Stamps during the spring/summer Coffee Lover's Hop. I chose this stamp set as part of my winning. It is by AALL & Create (Gardener Dee). The farm scene image is from an older Gina K Designs set in my stash (or hoard) of stamps. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the die cut fence (Silhouette Design Store #16326). You know I always have to finish off my card with a bow and bam, it was done! :) Thanks for dropping in....hope you dug it!
One of my favorite comedians is Steve Martin (and have seen him "live" two times performing). There is now way I could pass up making a card for this challenge! I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the cute sun die cut for front of the card (plus the clouds). You can find the cutting pattern here.
Had a little crafty fun time today and just wanted to "play." I decided to see what I could come up with for the F Is For F Words at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers current challenge. Of course every one knows "f" is for finger (you know which one too....wink). I found an old image by Crafty Secrets in my stash (or hoard) of supplies which I thought would be a good one for the sentiment. The embossing folder is by Spellbinders (the May one in the monthly embossing folder club). I used alphabet stamps by Hampton Art to create my sentiment. The hand die cut is by Honey Bee Stamps (Helping Hand). I put a baker's twine bow around the middle finger for the finishing touch. ;) Thanks for dropping by and remember to stay crafty.

Hero Art's Stay Crafty May Challenge is Get Scrappy which is to use your scraps of leftover papers. I had these solid colored pastel pieces of cardstock in my "scrap box" and decided to die cut them. I adhered the die cut pieces to a white card base and stamped the "with sympathy" sentiment to the lower right. The butterfly images are from a Hero Arts set called New Day Butterflies. I added just a touch of color to the butterflies with alcohol markers in pastel colors. The baker's twine bow and striped sequins were the finishing touch. Thanks for dropping by. I hope your weekend has been a pleasant one. I've been doing "porch reading" outside plus planting flowers and repotting older plants. I wish I could stay outside on the porch and read, read, read....but those darn household chores don't do themselves. ha-ha
I did this bird house shaped card for a friend who is having health problems. I cut the bird house shape card using my Silhouette Cameo and a design from their store (#57952 Bird House Shaped Tall Card). The bird and sentiment are by Hero Arts from a huge de-stash box I won several months ago. I loved creating this bird image using four different colored inks. This bird will be chirping at these fun challenges:
Thanks for stopping by. Hope your weekend has been a good one. I have been out planting flower seeds plus repotting several plants which needed larger pots. They had all outgrown their current pots. One of my plants is nearly 45 years old. It is an Elephant Foot Palm and is taller than I am so you can image how much fun it is to repot. :) I keep it out on our side porch during the summer (and in the garage in winter). It is a beautiful plant and I am proud of the fact I've kept it alive all these years. :) It was only about twelve inches tall when I bought it all those years ago.
Creating one more time for the color challenge going on at Jingle Bells currently. I heat embossed with a silver glitter Wow embossing powder the "merry & bright" sentiment by Concorde & 9th. The set is called Big On Christmas. I matted it on silver foil board (forgive the black line at the bottom caused by my phone photography....it is NOT on the card). I added more sentiments with black ink at the top and bottom with black ink. To finish the card, I used pink and white solid colored baker's twine plus a snowflake die cut with a Jolee's snowflake sticker on top of it. Hope your weekend has been merry and bright with some fun thrown in. Thanks for dropping in.

Spent some crafty time today creating a card which will join a couple of challenges. These cute stamps are by Penguin Palace (from their Aloha Hawaii set). The stitched square frame die is by My Favorite Things. These hula girls will be joining:
I discovered a new challenge today and had to create a card for it. :) It is the Christmas Craft Creations challenge and for May it is use only two colors. For my two colors, I chose kraft and red cardstock. I used a snowflake pattern Sizzix embossing folder for the upper panel. The "let it snow" sentiment is a die by Memory Box (and also the snowflake). I finished it off with small red jewels by KI Memories. Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty.

It is a color challenge at Jingle Belles this time. You are to use pink, grey (or silver) and white (or ivory) for your colors. The above photo was to help inspire us. When I saw the colors to use, my first thought was pink poinsettias! I had a new 3D embossing folder by Altenew called Perfect Poinsettias. I've had it a few months and thought it was high time I USED it. I used pink cardstock to emboss a beautiful panel of poinsettias. Next I stamped the image and sentiment which I colored and die cut. The silver border around the edge of the square card is a die by Sizzix. I finished it with adding a touch of silver Stickles on the flower image and adhering a white twine bow to the upper right corner. Thanks for dropping in and remember to stay crafty!

I did a card for the current Cut It Up Challenge which has a theme of April Showers Bring May Flowers (which is to feature rain and/or flowers). I recently won a de-stash prize on Instagram that was a large box of Reverse Confetti stamps dies and ink pads. I almost needed smelling salts when the prize box arrived in the mail and I opened it! This cute Reverse Confetti "Sealiously" was one of the many stamp sets (plus the matching dies) in my prize box. I couldn't wait to play with it and thought the rain part of the Cut It Up Challenge would be perfect for it. Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty. I'll be joining these fun challenges:

Got crafty this morning for a couple of challenges. I had new stamps to play around with too so FUN! First I used Hero Arts Snowflake Swirl Bold Print stamp and stamped it in a bright blue on white cardstock. I used a brush and Distress Oxide ink to go around the edges. I created a snow border at the bottom using stitched edge dies. Next I stamped the Mama Elephant "Tree Picking" stamp set images and colored with alcohol inks. I cut them out using my Scan N Cut which does a great job! I used a snowflake punch and adhered five to the stamped and inked background plus a red bow. Jingle Belles has a Winter Fun challenge and nothing was more fun when I was growing up than to go pick out the family Christmas tree with my parents. ABC Christmas Challenge has "I Is For Inky" and I inked around the edges of the snowflake background. Thanks for stopping by. I'm heading out to our front porch to read in a few minutes. It is a beautiful sunny day here which will make for a nice afternoon of getting lost in a good book! :)

Joining the Hero Arts Stay Crafty challenge with a theme of "Blend It Up." I used my new Hero Arts Meowseum stamp set which is too much FUN. I did ink blending in the center of the card base with Distress Oxide ink. The flower and leaf die cuts are by Sizzix. Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty!
I have had such a busy two weeks that I almost forgot to do a card for the Jingle Belles challenge for Earth Day. The challenge calls for re-cycled, re-used or up-cycled elements on your card. A friend wrapped my present this past Christmas with a beautiful wrapping paper which featured houses decorated for the holidays. I loved the paper and carefully unwrapped my present so I could use the paper later for crafty creations. I immediately thought of it when I saw the Jingle Belles challenge. I used a die cut sentiment by Sizzix which I cut from white fun foam for extra dimension. Thanks for stopping by....got to HURRY and get this linked cause only a few hours are left open on this challenge.

The Hero Arts Stay Crafty challenge for April is "Blend It Up." I have a new stamp set by Hero Arts called Meowseum which I am having lots of fun playing with. I thought it would be a good one for the "blend it up" challenge. I took a background I had recently created with my Gelli Arts Plate and used Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink to blend around the outside edge. I stamped the image with black ink on white cardstock and colored with alcohol markers. A stamped sentiment from the same set, a die cut sentiment and baker's twine bow are the finishing touches. Hope your week is off to a good start. Thanks for stoppong by and remember to stay crafty.

Decided it was time to join the Memory Box Challenge which is for a "thinking of you or miss you" theme this month. I used All The Happiness clear stamp set and Pinpoint Leaf Plate on my "thinking of you" card. The sentiment was done with a label maker. I colored the image with pastel colored alcohol markers (love this image for coloring). Hope the weather is nice where you are. We are expecting storms later so time to batten down the hatches (wink). Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty.

I spent a fun and productive morning in my craft room working on cards for Easter. I'm entering these cards in the Cut It Up Challenge which is Spring. The stamps are by Simon Says Stamp (Fingerprint Doodles) but the sentiment is by Pink & Main. Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty.
Inkspirational (Critters That Hop -- I have bunnies on these cards.)
We Wish You A Plaid Christmas is the current Jingle Belles challenge. I found this pretty red plaid paper in my stash along with a pre-printed gold foiled sentiment to match it. I used a plaid embossing folder on gold foil cardstock to mount the sentiment on. The stamp image is my Mama Elephant and I fussy cut it out for the lower right of the sentiment panel. I added a white twine bow for the final touch. This is a fast and easy card but I loved the plaids on it. Thanks Jingle Belles for helping me get one more Christmas card made! I'm also entering this card at the ABC Christmas Challenge. Stay safe and remember to stay crafty.
Got to spend a pleasant morning in my craft room playing with cute new stamps by Penguin Palace. My daughter's birthday is coming up and she loves camping so I thought Bond With Nature Canada would be perfect to make her card. I used the sketch at the Penguin Palace Challenge blog for my design inspiration. This card was lots of fun to put together. I know my daughter will be tickled with it (especially the birthday money enclosed.....wink!) Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty.

The new Jingle Belles Challenge is "Holiday Melody" where there needs to be something musical on your card. I remembered a cute stamp set I have by Newton's Nook of caroling kittens and decided to work with it. I think they are singing Deck The Halls (I have a good imagination...wink). Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are enjoying the new daylight savings time. I was able to get a walk in before our supper tonight....nice!!!! :)

Can You Handle The Pressure challenge is Anything Goes With A Twist Of Plaid. Since it is a very rare snow day for us, I decided to stay all warm in my craft room. The embossing folder is by Sizzix and has a beautiful plaid pattern. I used it on the trimmed blue cardstock plus the woman's stamped suit images (so she is wearing a plaid suit....wink). The woman plus her clothes are stamps by Stampendous. The sentiment is by Unity Stamp Company. Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty.
It snowed here during the night and we got up to a white winter wonderland. This is the only snow we have had this winter to do any ground cover. Course last weekend, it was in the 70's so crazy weather anyway. With the snow and cold temperatures, I decided to play in my craft room and make cards for challenges. This card is was inspired by the Let's Squash It challenge of Emboss/Deboss. I used an Oriental flower pattern embossing folder (older one by Cuttlebug). The yellow panel is the embossed side while the lavender and pink die cut panels are the debossed sides. The cute images and sentiment are by Unity Stamp Company. I felt the card needed a "little" something so I went hunting in my craft room for an Oriental embellishment. I found an almost "antique" punch by All Night Media which I thought would be perfect. I used it for the center two black circles. Thanks for stopping by on this cold winter's day....and remember to stay warm AND crafty.

I would like to believe the sentiment on my card! The world's eyes are on Ukraine right now and the images are heart breaking. I did this card for a couple of challenges plus time in my craft room helps with stress. The stamp image and sentiment are from a set by Unity Stamp Company. Thanks for stopping by and remember to hug your loved ones today if you can.
Happy Birthday Time Out Challenges! They are celebrating their 8th birthday! How awesome is that! I needed a card for a family friend so how about that for perfect timing? Wink! I used stamps by Art Impressions and a border die by Sizzix. Easy peasy and hopefully will bring a smile to our friend. Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay "looking good." Ha-ha

Here is my card for the Mod Squad Challenge of Standing With Ukraine. My heart breaks for what this country is being put through. I used dies from my stash plus used my Silhouette Cameo for the sunflower and peace sentiments. The sentiment stamp is an old one by My Sentiments Exactly. Thanks for stopping by and remember to hug your loved ones today. Peace!

Joining the Time Out Challenges CASe A Card Challenge with this card. I was inspired by Michele's sentiment in the center of her beautiful card plus the foliage peeking out from behind the die cut shape. I used a soft shade of blue card stock for the base, center die cut and die cut sentiment (which I cut out five times and adhered together for extra dimension). I used a pretty flamingo washi tape to add interest at the top and bottom of the card base. I die cut four green and two gold metallic cardstock leaf branches to tuck under the round shape (like Michele had done hers). I added a green hemp bow and some gold sequins for the finishing touch. Fun card to make and can't wait to mail to this week! Thanks for dropping in and remember to stay crafty!

Spent a happy morning in my craft room playing with stamps and dies. I realized I had not joined the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge for February. Decided it was now or never! :) I used a stamp set by Pink & Main (which I discovered is discontinued now). The patterned heart knit stitched paper is by Recollections. I also used a small heart shaped brad on the stamped cup images. I'll be linking this one up at the following challenges:
Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge (Coffee + Hearts)
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Slimline Cards)
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (Food or Drink)
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are having a fun and crafty weekend.

I'm back with another wax paper/embossing folder inked background. I can't believe I had never tried this technique before. I love the results as it looks somewhat like batik art. Here is a quick run-through if you have never done this before. Gives you another fun thing to do with your embossing folders!
1. Trim wax paper a little larger than your embossing folder.
2. Scrunch up wax paper to wrinkle and then smooth out again.
3. Insert wax paper into your embossing folder and emboss.
4. Place trimmed white cardstock over top and bottom of embossed wax paper.
5. Fold a piece of plain copy paper in half. Insert the cardstocks with wax paper in between.
6. Iron over the copy paper (with cardstocks in between it). Have iron on high.
7. Use a large sponge dauber and an ink pad to apply color to the ironed piece.
That's all there is to it and the results turn out quite pretty!!! Try to use embossing folders with a pattern instead of a background for best results. For this one, I used a Sizzix Embossing folder with a pattern of leaves. The stamps are by Colorado Craft Company. I also used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for my inspiration (flipped it).
Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty.
Have you ever used your embossing folder with wax paper to create a batik looking background paper? This is my first time trying this technique but I'm sure it won't be my last. It was quite fun. Trim a piece of wax paper a little larger than your embossing folder. Scrunch up the wax paper wrinkling it. Smooth it out again and run through the embossing folder. Next put trimmed white cardstock on top and bottom of the embossed wax paper. Last put this between a piece of folded plain copy paper and run your iron over it. The fun part is adding ink to the ironed pieces with a large sponge dauber. Inside the frame above you can see what the finished piece looks like. I used the same embossing folder for the waxed resist as I did embossing the pink cardstock on the front of the card. This opens up another world for your embossing folders. Use embossing folders with patterns (instead of backgrounds) for best results. This pink butterflies birthday card is joining the below challenges:

There is a new challenge blog for embossing folders! It is Can You Handle The Pressure? The first challenge is Anything Goes with the option of a twist of pink. How fun is that! I have a weakness for embossing folders and have the collection to prove it. I have been using and collecting them for many years! I still needed one Valentine card so decided to use a hearts embossing folder on pink cardstock. This embossing folder is by Sizzix and I have had it for years! The stamp images and stamped sentiment are by Recollections from a couple of years ago. The "love" word die is by Momento (cut out seven and adhered together for extra dimension). Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty!

It's time for a new Jingle Belles Challenge. The above stockings photo is the inspiration for this challenge. I had a new stamp set by Concord and 9th (Merry Mantle) which was perfect. As luck would have it, I found a brick pattern stencil in my stash which I inked with Distress Oxide ink pads on a white card stock panel. After inking the stockings image, I colored it with the same colors as the stocking in the inspiration photo. I fussy cut the stockings out and adhered to the card panel along with a stamped mantel and die cut greenery (from Momento Fireplace die set). The sentiment is from the Merry Mantle set. I added a light teal colored bowed to the top left of the greenery on the mantle to mimic the photo. This card was easy plus FUN. Hope all of you have a nice weekend planned. We are trying to watch all the best picture nominees before the Oscars are aired. I finished The Power of the Dog book this afternoon so we have plans to watch the movie on Netflix tonight. Exciting times at our house I tell ya (wink)!!!!! Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty!
