Papertake Weekly Challenge Card

photo ACertainDarknessStarsCard.jpg I'm playing the Papertake Weekly Challenge today with their sketch #92. I had a new roll of ribbon I found on a trip to Michael's which I designed the colors on the card around. The stamps on the card are by Unity Stamp Company. All the stars (except the tiny ones) are Sizzix Framelit dies plus the circle die too. The tiny stars are the punch outs from a very old corner punch (and I don't know the company which made it...punch is not labeled). I used a ColorBox Nautical ink pad by Clearsnap. I use this ink pad a lot since it is truly good navy. :) Thanks for stopping by. I can't believe it is nearly August 1st. This summer has flown by! It won't be long now before my youngest moves to college. I'm so excited for her (not so much for me---putting another through college----yep, I'll be broke for four years--ha-ha). :) It's been a LONG time since it was just the hubby and I living in our home....so I guess we have fallen into the empty nest catagory. I don't know if I should be laughing or crying....I think it will be a little of each. :)

Hello Card

photo RunwayInspiredChallengePhoto2.jpg photo HelloCardRunwayInspiredChallenge.jpg My "hello" card was done for the Runway Inspired Challenge #63. I had to put my "thinking" cap on for this one. I finally decided to do backgrounds with Staedtler Watercolor Crayons and some markers to mimic the designs in the dress. The stamps are by Unity Stamp Company. I colored the raw wood embellishments with markers and then one coat of glitter Mod Podge. Fun card....thanks Runway Inspired for the challenge. :)

The Stamps of Life July Stamp Set

photo SOLJulyClubSetTwo.jpg photo SOLJulyClubSetThree.jpg photo SOLJulyClubSetFour.jpg photo SOLJulyClubSetOne.jpg It's July and time for a new stamp set from The Stamps of Life. This one is "berry sweet"!!! :) It is called strawberries2love and super fun to stamp with. Be sure to check out all the great samples by the design team here. Hope your summer is off to a good start. My youngest daughter and I made a "road trip" to Dallas a couple of weeks ago. We were visiting with my oldest daughter and went to see "Mamma Mia" (the traveling Broadway version). Was supposed to see Paul McCartney but he had to reschedule his concert for October (so I guess I'll be making that long drive again). Starting to look for things for my daughter's college dorm room in August (sniff, sniff) where she will be attending Mississippi State University. I already miss her!!! :) This "mom" stuff is soooooo hard. :) Stay cool (only in air conditioning in Alabama) and visit again soon.

Paris Card

photo RunwayInspiredChallengePhoto.jpg It's been awhile since I've had time to do any challenge blogs but found a "little" time to play yesterday. :) My Paris card is for Runway Inspired #61. photo RunwayInspiredChallengeCard.jpg This was a FUN card to do. I tried to stay "true" to the photo inspiration from Runway Inspired's challenge. The stamps are by Darcie's, LLC which I heat embossed with black embossing powder for extra sharpness. The Eiffel Tower die is by Sizzix. The cardstock is by Diecuts With A View. The summer is off and running. Lots of heat and afternoon thunderstorms which makes for staying in the air conditioning a nice thing indeed. My youngest graduated from high school last week (valedictorian of her class....WOOT, WOOT). :) I'm trying to spend as much time with her as possible before she leaves for college in August (sniff, sniff). I'm beginning to think this "mom" stuff is hard. Wink. We have a fun road trip to Dallas planned soon where I have tickets to see Paul McCartney plus the musical Mamma Mia. Visit again soon, stay safe and cool this summer.

May Stamps of Life Release

It's the first of a new month so it's time for a new release from The Stamps of Life. I had the most fun playing with sandles4summer. It is my favorite new set! :) So without further adieu, take a look at the samples I did with it. photo SOLMayCardTwo.jpg photo SOLMayCardOne.jpg photo SOLMayCardThree.jpg photo SOLMayCardFour.jpg I have been super busy since my last post (back in March....I am sorry about that). I'm going to try and do better during the coming weeks but we'll have to wait and see. I made a trip to Dallas the last week of March to see Cher in concert. That lady knows how to put on a show! :) We also saw the musical "The Wizard of Oz" while there too. But the best part was getting to visit with my oldest daughter and see her new apartment, etc. etc. :) I came home and decided to clean out my attic (which could have been on an episode of Hoarders). :) I "thought" I could do it in a few days but it ended up taking nearly two weeks. So guess what I am having next weekend? Yep a huge yard sale. :) Still trying to work on that going through closets and basement. Everything will be in better shape (if it doesn't kill me first....wink) and hopefully have some "mad" money from it too. That's good cause I'm headed back to Dallas in June to see Paul McCartney in concert (plus the musical Mamma Mia). It will be a nice visit to see my daughter again plus spend time with my youngest before she leaves for college in August....sniff, sniff). Lot of graduation things going on in May besides all the above. So hang in there as I keep repeating the same to myself! :)

One Fabulous Couple Card

photo OneFabulousCoupleCard.jpg Today's card is one I did for four challenge blog sites. I based the layout of the card on Sketch Saturday's design. Casual Friday's challenge is called Shades of Gray so I used gray cardstock plus a silver (which looks gray) glitter cardstock. The Runway Inspired challenge photo is also in gray with touch of black so I think it works with it as well. Last but not least, City Crafter Challenge wanted a black and white photo for their challenge. I used a photo image stamp by Stampsmith (LOVE these type of stamps). :) The pretty diecut is a new one by Sizzix called Curly Gate. The sentiment stamps are by Art Gone Wild (one of their Words To The Rescue sets -- Variety Pack 2). Hope your weekend has been a good one. I'm off to put some pork chops in the crockpot for a easy dinner. That way there will be more crafting and relaxing time this afternoon. I'm hoping to read some too. I have started The Troop by Nick Cutter. I like to read all types of fiction as long as it is good (wink). Saw where Stephen King said The Troop scared the h--- out of him. That really got my attention. Would I be brave enough to read it and turn the light off at night? :) So far, so good.

Stamps of Life Patterns4Flowers Set

photo SOLMarchExtraDaisySetThree.jpg The Stamps of Life March set was called crazy4daisies. I'm posting the "extra" set for it called patterns4flowers. More patterns and fun sentiments for the crazy4daisies set. I tell ya having stamps sets like this take almost all the work out of creating your cards. :) Check out all the ideas for these stamp sets in the gallery. photo SOLMarchExtraDaisySetTwo.jpg photo SOLMarchExtraDaisySetOne.jpg Can't believe it is March already? Getting excited as I get to do some traveling this month to visit my oldest daughter in Dallas (where we will be going to see Cher in concert). :) I may have to grow my hair long, paint my nails and wear a halter top. Nah, just messing with you....no one would want to see that! Wink. :) Hope you have a fun weekend of crafting planned.

The Stamps of Life February Release

photo spinner2stamp.jpg New month, new stamps!  :)  The February release for The Stamps of Life is called spinner2stamp and is soooooo much fun!  I'm sharing three quick cards I did with the set.  The St. Paddy's card also uses the set shamrocks4us (just in case you had to know.....wink).  :) photo SOLFebruary2014SpinnerCardOne.jpg photo SOLFebruary2014SpinnerCardThree.jpg photo SOLFebruary2014SpinnerCardTwo.jpg I hope you are staying warm in your neck of the woods.  This winter has been a COLD one in Alabama. It makes for some nice warm days in my craft room though.  :)  Until next time.....
