Butterfly Joy Fold Card

I'm joining in on the fun at the Butterfly Challenge today.  It has been a long time since I played there.  It is a fun challenge with some nice prizes of which I am playing for.  I was especially intrigued by one of the challenges for it which was to make a Joy Fold card.  I was not familiar with this type of folded card.  But I can now say I have made one. :)  The other challenge elements were: Jasmine (pale yellow), Juicy Orange. Jade, Jute, Jewels plus a butterfly since it is the butterfly challenge.  :)
I took some extra photos so you could hopefully see the way the Joy Fold card is made.  I used a butterfly stamp (with matching die) by Hampton Art.  The die cut was found at the Silhouette Design Store and cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  The vertical sentiment "happy birthday" stamp is by Sizzix.

In a nutshell, it is basically two cards folded so they overlap and lay flat.  I used the colors of jasmine (pale yellow), juicy orange and jade cardstocks.  I also used yellow jewels and orange jute (twine).

This is the inside of the card with the stamped sentiment (by Gina K Designs).  I'll be linking this card at:

Alphabet Challenge (I is for Insect)
CCEE Stampers (Moth or Butterfly)
Cute Card Thursday (No Patterned Papers)
Mod Squad Challenge (All That Sparkles -- I have yellow jewels)

Hope you are staying cool and as always.....stay crafty!

Holy Cow You're Old Birthday Card

This was not a week of crafting but one of hospitals and surgery.  (Hubby had to have surgery first part of the week so I was in my "nurse's uniform."  Wink.)  Yesterday was the first day I have had even a few minutes to myself so where did I go?  Yes, the grocery store but after?  :)  I couldn't wait to relax and make a card (my de-stresser).  Art Impressions has a fun challenge this time calling for "Animal Prints."  I had a new set with cows by Art Impressions called Udderly Fantastic (you can see it here).  AND as luck would have it, I had some patterned paper with a cow print pattern.  Woo Hoo!  :)  Since I tend to send more cards for females, I decided to do my cow with pink accents.  My party girl cow is going to be joining these challenges:

Mod Squad Challenge (All That Sparkles-- I used pink Stickles on the balloons and skirt.)

Happy Birthday From The Dog Card

What do you do on rainy summer days?  I think it is a great excuse to head to the craft room (wink).  I thought I would do another entry for the Art Impressions birthday challenge while at the same time adding to my birthday cards stash.  I used a fun stamp set from Art Impressions called "Dog Mouthful Set."  I love a red, white and black color combo and only used those colors.  It always looks bold and striking.  :)  I used a Sizzix Rectangle Stand-Up card die for my card base.  The "happy birthday" die cut at the bottom of the card was done with my Silhouette Cameo (design found at the Silhouette Design Store).

This happy birthday dog is joining up at the following challenges:
2 Crafty Critter Crazies (Anything Goes)

As always....thanks for visiting me on this summer day....and remember to stay crafty!

Still Got It Birthday Card

I needed a card for for a male family friend and immediately thought of my new Art Impressions set called Birthday Laugh Lines (can be seen here).  This set cracks me up and is always fun to play with.  I used a Sizzix die to create the card (not sure it is still available though....have had it a long time).

I took this photo trying to show all the images on the card.  I think our friend will get a kick out of this card.  Thanks for stopping by and as always.....stay crafty.

This fun birthday card is joining these challenges:

Berry Happy Birthday Card

HOT!  How hot is it you asked?  So hot I'm staying in the air conditioned craft room!  (Wink.)  After several days of not creating, this seemed like the perfect day.  Too hot to venture outside until late afternoon.  The pool is even too hot until then.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out this shaped card and all the die cut elements.  The stamps (sentiment and stems) are by The Stamps of Life.  Just another birthday card to add to my stash of birthday cards.  These berries are going to be joining in on the fun at:

Mod Squad Challenge (Red, White and Blue)
Always Fun Challenges (Anything Goes)
Inkspirational Challenges (Three or Five of Something -- I have five strawberries.)

As always thanks for visiting and remember to stay crafty plus COOL.  :)

On Your Big Day Shaker Card

It has officially turned HOT at my house.  It is so hot I put on a swimsuit (plus cover-up for the front yard) to water plants because I jump in the pool every few minutes while watering them!  I'm paying for planting so many flowers but in the spring it seemed like a good idea.  ha-ha  Before plant watering time though, I ventured in my cool craft cave to make another entry for the Art Impressions "Shaker Card" challenge.  :)  The first  photo shows my shaker card flat so you can see the pink, silver and black sequins.  I used a cute elephant stamp set by Art Impressions.  The patterned paper is by DCWV.  The square stitched postage stamp die can be found here.   I used it to cut the shaker opening and then again in patterned paper to put on the bottom piece (lining it up with the shaker "window.")  The celebrate word die is by Crafter's Companion and was cut out of pink fun foam.
This is one of those cards which is prettier in person than in the photographs.  (Does that ever happen to you?)  :)  Anyway my "shaking" elephant is going to be joining the following challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers (Dies Or Punches)
Crafty Animals (Anything Goes)

Thanks for stopping by and as always....stay crafty.  :)
