Friends Are Family Card

Friends Are Family
Mojo Monday has a pretty sketch this week that I wanted to try. The sentiment is some patterned paper by BoBunny while the image is by Lunagirl. I pulled out one of my older Hampton Art stamps and did the background on the cardstocks. The border punch is by Martha Stewart and the flower is by Prima Marketing. I added some ribbon, bling and black staples to finish it up.
The little snow we had yesterday afternoon was all melted by mid-morning. I know some of you have had more snow than you care for but it was so pretty falling. I wished it could have been more and stayed around a little longer. :) Not much else going on except that I saw the movie "Crazy Heart" last night. When I do my Oscar voting, I'm going to give the Best Actor vote to Jeff Bridges. He did a wonderful job in this movie. :) I downloaded the soundtrack to this one too. It has some good music in it!!!!

Matching Handbag Card

Matching HandbagIt's been a few weeks since I tried the challenge at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. The movie for this week is "Clueless" and I knew I could have some serious fun with that one. :) This card has a vellum quote and journaling page by Anna Griffin. The shoe and purse diecuts are by Sizzix. I used one of my favorite color combos of pink and black.
This has been a fun Valentine's Day. My hubby surprised me with a box of candy plus a big bag of M&Ms (he knows I LOVE them). Now that would be enough but he also had two new border paper punches I didn't have AND he is taking me out for dinner tonight. Yep, he is a keeper. :) Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Vintage "Male" Birthday Card

Vintage Male Birthday
The challenge at Charisma Cardz is do a project with a "male" theme. I had some new papers by Graphic 45 that I thought would be perfect for this challenge. The papers are from the "A Proper Gentleman" collecton. I also used a Martha Stewart border punch, a Sizzix butterfly diecut, and some EK Sucess black diamond shaped rhinestones.
You won't believe how I spent my Friday night (and not because I wanted to either). I ended up cleaning my double ovens because I had a terrible accident in one of them tonight. The ovens are self-cleaning but I did them the "old" fashioned way. Used some foaming oven cleaner which actually worked pretty well. :) Course the whole process took over two hours but am going to bed feeling like I accomplished a lot. :) Hope you are staying warm....the snow "missed" us but there is more in the forecast for Monday. Have a fun weekend (don't recommend cleaning your oven for that though.) :)

Paris Journey Card

Paris Journey
Fun challenge at 365 Cards to "Keep It Simple." The challenge is to stamp an image on cardstock without coloring it, use one embellishment that coincides with your image and add a sentiment. I used a stamp by Stamp Francisco that has an Eiffel Tower in the background. I covered the stamped Eiffel Tower with a Eiffel Tower brad that covered it up perfectly (I had to "snip" one side of the brad so it wouldn't hang over the stamped woman's image.) I also stamped an extra of the image and cut out the dress only and put it over the original with foam tape for a little extra dimension. The sentiment is a rub-on by Royal & Langnickel. It was fun doing this "simple" challenge. :)
Hope you are staying warm. My neck of the woods is getting a "little" snow tonight with most of the heavier stuff going south of us. My youngest went to bed hoping school would be called off tomorrow. :) Great weather for staying in, making cards, drinking hot chocolate, watching movies, reading and maybe even taking a nap or two. :)

Dream Boat Card

Dream Boat
I had such fun working with purple in the Amethyst Challenge over at
Daring Cardmakers that I wanted to do another one. Plus I really want to win that pretty butterfly punch being given away by Craft Obsessions. (Wink.) This card has purple cardstock by American Crafts, dotted swiss cardstock by Bazzill and patterned paper by K&Company. The sticker is by Diecuts With A View, the embossing folder is by Sizzix and the jeweled square brad is by Making Memories. Found the colored paper clip at Targets a long time ago and the ribbon is some gingham by Offray. I'm loving all the purple! :)
Do you have fun weekend plans? If the weather permits, I'm going to take my youngest daughter to see the movie, "Dear John." She really wants to see it and I could stand an afternoon out at the moves too. It will make for a win-win situation. :)

Purple "Thank You" Card

Purple Bling Thank You
Daring Cardmakers has an "Amethyst" Challenge this week. Create a purple card or something with an amethyst theme. I love the color purple so thought this would be a fun one to try (not to mention I want to win the pretty butterfly punch!) :) Daring Cardmakers and Craft Obsessions are giving away a gorgeous Martha Stewart butterfly punch (drooling here). ;) Although I love the color purple, I don't seem to do many cards with it as the dominant color. I had to do some searching in my stash before I came up with some things I wanted to work with. This card has patterned cardstock by Diecuts With A View (Taj Mahal stack) plus patterned paper by Crafty Secrets (from the Birds and Botanical booklet). The pearl swirl is by Prima Marketing (so pretty in person). The rubber stamp is by Hampton Art and the diecut label is by Sizzix. The pretty purple flowers are by Prima Marketing too. After working on this one, I made a promise to myself to do more purple cards!!! :)
Another cloudy rainy day in Alabama but I'm guessing it could be worse. (If you are in the "snow storm" area, I'll bet you are agreeing, huh.) :)

Love Bandit Card

Love Bandit
The challenge at 365 Cards (Day 340) today was to have a heart theme on your card.
I did a quick card using BoBunny papers, flowers by Prima Marketing, and a Sizzix primitive heart diecut. It also has a rub-on and transparency by Diecuts With A View. The brads are by American Crafts.
Have you tried working with a terrible "crick" in your neck? :) That has been me today. Late this afternoon, I finally gave up and went to bed with it. It doesn't hurt if I don't move. :) Hopefully it will be better tomorrow....you know as Scarlett O'Hara says, "tomorrow is another day." :)

Cuckoo Over You Card

Cuckoo Over You
This card was inspired by the sketch over at CPS (#152). The card features patterned papers by BoBunny, flower by Prima Marketing, Sizzix heart diecuts and a brad by Basic Grey. I also used some white chipboard by Grafix for the base of the heart diecuts.
Hope your day has been a good one. Got to rush now and get dinner on the table. How does BBQ pork chops, baked sweet potatoes, green beans and cole slaw sound? Sounds pretty good to me....I'm hungry! :)
