Color Outside The Lines Card

How is your weekend going?  I'm having a rainy weekend with a little crafty plus baking time (did Chocolate Glazed Donuts for the family this morning for breakfast).  Time Out has a "hobbies" theme challenge and I thought of a recently acquired stamp set about coloring.  Coloring is a nice hobby (and one I enjoy).  I also used the sketch at CAS-UAL Fridays for placement inspiration.  I inked the green circles with a Distress Oxide ink pad and then overstamped the image with black ink.  Last I did coloring with markers for a fast and easy card.  My daughter came home from college this weekend and saw this card laying on my desk.  She commented on how much she liked it which made me happy (so now think I will mail it to her since she likes mail from home).  ;)

Awesome Gnome Card

I found a few minutes to create this afternoon. (Maybe I should say I sneaked in a little "me" time when I had a million other things I should have been doing.)  ;)  This is a fun quick and easy card which uses a new stamp set I got in the mail today.  Isn't that little gnome cute?  I made this card to mail to my youngest daughter at college.  I think it will bring a smile to her face.  I also made a matching envelope from patterned paper like the sun pattern on the card (and forgot to photo).  I discovered an A7 size envelope at the Silhouette Design Store this morning and got very excited.  You can see it here.  Now I can do matching envelopes using my Silhouette Cameo for my cards.  Love it!  My little gnome want to join in at the following challenges:

Steampunk Adventure Card

The Paper Girls Challenge is celebrating their sixth anniversary with a fun challenge.  You are to use six of something on your crafty creation.    I made a steampunk themed adventure card and used six small black brads.  When I made my kraft cardstock base I inked up the center with vintage photo distress oxide ink.  Then I sprayed some water on top of it and blotted it with a paper towel.  The steampunk woman image was stamped with black ink on top.  I repeated the process with the stamped sentiment.  I used the Silhouette Cameo to cut out the gears die cut and attached it with the six small black brads.  Easy but fun card.  I hope your Saturday is going well.  This morning I got a haircut and bought groceries so I won't be scaring anyone with my hair and we won't go hungry this week.  ;)  This lady on wheels is going to be joining these challenges:

Twofer Card Challenge #2 -- Hearts

First, let me say.....Happy Valentine's Day!  Here's hoping we all get the BIG box of chocolates!
It's time for the second Twofer Card Challenge.  The theme is hearts.  If you would like to join in on the fun, read all about it here.  I chose to use a jeweled heart image by Hampton Art in both of my cards.

My first card I colored the image with markers and trimmed it with a stitched square die cut.  I added some small colored jewels by KI Memories.  I tied the bows from multicolored hemp cord and added them as the final touch.
For my second card, I chose to do a wedding theme.  The sentiments are actually the ones which go with the  jeweled heart image's set.  You can see it here.
I'm also going to be linking up at these challenges:
The Paper Girl's Challenge (Their 6th anniversary -- so use six of something.  I used six small jewels.)

Dear Santa Card

One of my favorite kinds of card to make is a funny one.  When I saw the "dear santa" at the Silhouette Design Store (you can see it here), I immediately thought of a funny sentiment stamp I had by Riley and Company.  The Santa image is by My Favorite Things and I love the expression on his face....just like he had read the sentiment on the card.  :)  That's it for me today.  I hope my Santa card made you smile.  Jolly old St. Nick is going to be joining these fun Christmas challenges:

Mr. Goldfish Card

I had to get up very early today to take my husband to the hospital for a test which was scheduled.  I tell you I am not a early morning person.  :)  Everything went fine though and we were home by ten o'clock.  Although sleepy and needing a nap because of getting up so early, I went in my craft room and created instead.  Aren't you proud of me?  (Wink.)  I have had this goldfish stamp set by Hero Arts a few months and this is the first time I have inked it up.  I loved the way Mr. Goldfish turned out so I'm going to be playing with it again soon.  I know both of my girls would love a card in the mail with him on it.  :)    I  also have three rows of pretty die cut "stitches" on this card.  Not sure the bottom two rows are showing up but trust me they are there.  I used one of the dies from the Stitching Lines by Julie which are by Essentials by Ellen.  The fish bowl was done with my Silhouette Cameo and you can see the design here.  I cut two of the fish bowls.  Inked and trimmed one to create the "water."  I adhered clear micro beads to the bottom of the bowl for "marbles."  I also used some clear sequins as water bubbles coming from Mr. Goldfish. This was a fun card to make!  Mr. Goldfish will be swimming by these challenges:

Essentials By Ellen Mix It Up Challenge (Use a Essentials by Ellen product plus a Hero Arts product.)

Valentine "Be Mine" Owl Card

I have been having fun making Valentine cards.  I used my new Silhouette Cameo 3 on this one.  I am still "learning" how to use it but slowly but surely getting there.  ;)  I found this cute owl at the Silhouette Design Store where you can see it here.  I used a couple of My Favorite Things sentiment stamps with black ink after I got the owl assembled.  Lots of layers and a patterned paper card base by Cloud Nine from my crafty stash.  This has been a duck weather has rained and rained.  Nice and dry in the 'ole craft room though.  ;)  This little love struck owl is going to be flying by these challenges:

Cupid Shaker Card and New Die Storage

Don't you love it when you discover something in your crafty stash you had completely forgotten about?  ;)  This is the case on my card today.  I had forgotten about this Stamps of Life grid die.   I got new thin metal die storage recently and I thought you would like to see photos of it.  ;)  The photo below is the door going into my craft room.  But behind the door is where my new die storage is and I love it!

I got vinyl magnetic sheeting and hung it on the wall.  We used a metal strip at the top and bottom (for thin carpet or linoleum) to anchor the magnetic piece to the wall.  We purchased the magnetic vinyl from a sign printing company here in town.  It comes in a roll and is 24 inches wide.  You can have it cut any length you want (mine is 6 feet long).  It is white on the side where things are printed and the back side is black and magnetic  (which is the side you expose for the dies to stick to).  If you are wondering what is in the hanging shoe storage bag, it is punches.

It is hidden behind the door.  I am using this storage for odds and ends because I had outgrown the box storage on my desk.  This box is full of nested dies and is handy when I am working.  But the storage on the wall is wonderful for seeing your dies and knowing what you maybe I won't forget a I did  with the grid die on this card.  ;)
Now back to my shaker card.  Winnie & Walter is celebrating their fourth year of business during the month of February with some fun challenges.  This card is for Lea's Shaker Card Challenge with a love theme.  I used some gold Cupid confetti and tiny micro red beads in the four shaker squares along the bottom.  The Cupid is from my stash and is a Jolee's Boutique sticker.  The stamps are by Winnie & Walter (Sending You Set).  I'm going to be joining these challenges with my Cupid Shaker Card:
Winnie & Walter (Love Shaker Card)
Shopping Our Stash (He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not)
Watercooler Wednesday (Anything Goes)
Mod Squad (Valentine - Love)
