25 Days Of Christmas Tags -- Merry Tag

I have not been in my craft room for several days because I have been trying to get the house decorated for Christmas.  I wish I could say I have finished the decorating but I still like putting up the trees.  But I do have the mantel decorated, all the beds have their Christmas quilts, the Christmas dishes have been put in the kitchen cabinets, the breakfast room Christmas tablecloth has been ironed and put on the table (it is under glass),  the couch has its Christmas pillows and all the Christmas flower/lights arrangements are in place.  So I'm off to a good start and I'll get those trees up tomorrow or Saturday.  Said all that to say this....I have missed creating this week !!! I decided to slip in my craft room  and make a tag because there are a few hours left at 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  My inspiration was a tag done by Kimber McGray when Jillibean Soup was guest on day 17.  I liked how Kimber used the patterned papers and turned them at an angle.  Guess I better get going...those trees are not going to decorate themselves!

I'm linking up my Merry Tag at:

25 Days Of Christmas Tags -- Flamingo Christmas Tag

I have one more tag to share for day 25 at 25 Days of Christmas Tags (read about it here).  For day 25, the guest is Pink and Main.  I was inspired by Lindsey's tags which had animals on them.  The flamingo and sentiment are from the Pink and Main stamp set called "Oh Deer."  I'll keep this short as I am trying to type and watch the Alabama/Auburn football game at the same time (hopefully you won't see too many mistakes).   My Christmas flamingo tag will be joining:

25 Days Of Christmas Tags -- Penguin Gift Tag

Today is day 25 at 25 Days of Christmas Tags (read all about it here).   The guest for today is Pink and Main.  They have some of the cutest stamps!   My penguin tag was inspired by Lindsey's which had a penguin.  I had a new penguin image by Pink and Main which had not been used (gasp) so today was the day.  I cut the tag out of white chipboard and rubbed it with  aqua ink to color.  Next I stamped a snowflake background over the aqua inked finish with a black ink pad.  After adding a silver tinsel bow, I went around the edges with silver glitter glue.  Hope your Saturday is off to a great start.  Today is the Iron Bowl which is a big deal in Alabama.  It is the day the two big rivals Alabama and Auburn play football....so Roll Tide and War Eagle.  :)

25 Days Of Christmas -- Merry Tree Tag

Today is day 24 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags (read all about it here).  For this tag I was inspired by Tracey McNeely's trees tag.  I used texture paste on a snowflake stencil and three torn paper strips at the bottom to add more "snow."  Thanks for stopping by on Black Friday.  Hope you have found some bargains!  :)

My merry tree tag is going to link up at:

25 Days Of Christmas Tags -- Tree and Snow Tag

This is day 24 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags (read all about it here.)  This tag was inspired by Holly Endress's tag with the tree on it.  I am calling this my "failed experiment tag."  I inked up a tag made from watercolor paper with distress oxide ink in Candied Apple.  I was going to heat emboss a big white polka dot background on it with a Winnie & Walter stamp.  BUT when I put the embossing powder on the tag, it covered up the WHOLE tag and the dots disappeared!  I decided I liked it though (it is pretty "in person").  The whole tag is heat embossed with white embossing powder which reminds me of snow!  With a stamped tree and sentiment plus the white snowflake spangles, it becomes quite festive!  I used some red and green snowflake ribbon at the top plus Christmas colored twine for the finishing touch.  Hope you are enjoying your Black Friday and finding lots of bargains.  I may have to do some stamp shopping since some of my favorite companies are having online sales today.  Shopping in my favorite chair is the way I roll on Black Friday.  ;)

CARD RECIPE:
Stamps -- Hampton Art
Ink Pads -- Clearsnap (Wicked Black and Watermark) & Distress Oxide (Candied Apple)
Embossing Powder -- Clearsnap (White)
Watercolor Paper -- Canson
Ribbon -- American Crafts
Christmas Twine -- Recollections
Misc. -- Snow Spangles

25 Days Of Christmas Tags -- Wreath Tag

Today is day 24 of 25 Days Of Christmas Tags.  If you are a newbie like me, then read all about it here.  I was inspired by Nicole Baez's tag with the wreath on it.  I had a package of tags by Pink Paislee with printed images and one had a wreath.  I heat embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder.  I then added some tiny red jewels and drops of Stickles plus the twine at top.  All in all a fairly fast and quite easy tag which is the best kind on Black Friday!  :)  Do you go out or stay in on Black Friday?  I prefer to stay in, avoid the crowds and have a nice day at home with my youngest daughter who is home from college.

CARD RECIPE:
Stamp -- Unity Stamp Company
Ink Pad -- Clearsnap (Black Pigment)
Embossing Powder -- Clearsnap (Black)
Tag -- Pink Paislee

Today is day 23 at 25 Days of Christmas Tags (read all about it here).  I was inspired by Shannon McComb's pretty tags.  I liked the shape plus her reindeer tag reminded me of a new set of stamps begging to be inked.  We had our Thanksgiving feast at lunch today and all of us are quite stuffed!  :)  I managed a few minutes in my craft room afterwards to "play."  But now all that turkey and trimmings is wanting me to take a nap so who am I to argue?  ;)  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

25 Days Of Christmas Tags -- Santa Shaker Tag

Popping in for a short post as I did another tag for day 22 at 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  You can't cook and clean all the time (even if tomorrow is Thanksgiving).  ;)    I was inspired by Sanna and Carol's shaker tags.  Both of their tags made me want to try something new in "shaker town."  I had not made one using alphabet letters as the "shaker" part so this one is a "first."  :)   Better get back to cooking and cleaning since tomorrow is "gobble 'til you wobble" day.

25 Days Of Christmas Tags -- Tree Tag

Today is day 22 at 25 Days of Christmas Tags and it is filled with lots of fun tags for inspiration.  If you are a newbie like me, then read all about it here.  For my tree tag, I was inspired by two tags.  I loved how Vickie Dutcher used the corrugated cardboard with the texture paste.  I was also taken with the shape of the trees and bling on Lynne Mizera's tag.  So I combined  elements from both for my tree tag.  Keeping this short as I need to get back to cooking and cleaning.  Glad you could stop by for a visit....now you need to get back to your cooking and cleaning.  You know Thanksgiving is tomorrow!  Wink!

I'm linking my tree tag at:

25 Days of Christmas Tags -- Stocking Tag

I didn't get to create yesterday for day 20 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags due to some unforeseen circumstances.  So I got up bright and early today and caught up on day 20.  I was inspired by Lindsey and Tracey's tags with stockings on them.  Instead of stamping a stocking like they did on their tags, I used a diecut stocking.  I decided to do it in classic red, white and black which always looks classic and clean.  I'm going to be looking for some red and white striped (or maybe polka dot) wrapping paper for this tag!!!!  Thanks for dropping by even though I know you are busy getting the turkey ready for Thanksgiving!  :)

CARD RECIPE:
Stamp -- Unity Stamp Company
Ink Pad -- Clearsnap (Wicked Black)
Diecuts -- Sizzix (Tag, Stocking and "merry")

25 Days of Christmas Tags -- Snowman Shaker Tag

I am joining in on the fun at 25 Days of Christmas Tags playing catch-up for day 18.  You can read all about it here.  I had too much to do yesterday to even think about going in my craft room (sad I know).  I had to go to the grocery store and run errands plus get house ready for company and prepare a good meal for dinner.  My snowman shaker tag was inspired by Katie Gehring's tags.  I liked how she made shaker tags with a snowman (or snowwoman) image.  Hope you are having a good Sunday afternoon.  My hubby and I are having a Netflix afternoon (watching a Western).  He has also volunteered to grill hamburgers so I don't have to cook tonight (yep, sometimes he is a keeper...wink).   My snowman tag is going to be shaking things up at:

25 Days of Christmas Tags -- Noel Shaker Tag

Found a little time this afternoon to do another tag for 25 Days of Christmas Tags which is on day 17.  The guest is Jillibean Soup which is one of my favorite companies.  I was inspired by Jaclyn Ranch's tag which used an alphabet to spell "joy" and the "o" was a shaker element.  I had one of the Jillibean soup star shaker elements and decided to spell noel .  I inked the tag with Distress Oxide inks,  inked the stars and then used some glitter Mod Podge  to add some sparkle.  I went over the white chipboard letters with glitter Mod Podge.  I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in white to outline the star shaker element (which has clear and white seed beads inside).  I'm linking my tag up to:

25 Days Of Christmas Tags -- Clear Joy Tag

Today is day 16 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags (read all about it here).  Ellen Hutson LLC is the guest and sponsor for day 16.  I was inspired by Carly Tee Minner's tag which was a clear shaker tag with pretty turquoise holly leaves.  I decided to create a "faux" shaker clear tag.  I used clear Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to create a rectangle on the clear diecut tag.  Then I carefully sprinkled it with multi-colored seed beads.  I diecut my holly leaves from turquoise burlap and used some red Nuvo crystal drops to accent the leaves (and outline the seed beads)  I was happy to find some turquoise alphabet beads in my crafty stash to spell "joy."  This was just a FUN tag to make.  Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty day.

25 Days of Christmas Tags -- Llama Burlap Tag

Today is day 13 at Tracy McNeeley's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. If you are a newbie like me, then read all about it here.  I have been looking forward to the day when Neat and Tangled would be the guest as I had their new Fa La La Llama stamp set.  I have been collecting a few sets with llamas and fell in love with this one because it tops the charts on the CUTE factor.  So I was definitely inspired by Brianna Loefflebein's llama tag today!  :)

For this tag, I backed a piece of red inked chipboard with natural colored burlap.  I went around the edges with glitter Mod Podge to give it sparkle (also dry brushing some on the edges of the mats, stamped scarf, blanket on llama, gift and top of clothes pin).  Remember my crafty shopping trip last week to get black and white gingham I was out of?  Are you surprised that even more ended up in my shopping cart?  I got the Christmas baker's twine and pretty red and white fibers too.  Used them on top of today's tag for the finishing touch. Who says I don't use what I buy?  (Except my hubby and he doesn't count....besides who listens to him anyway when crafty shopping!!!  Wink!)

25 Days of Christmas Tag -- Owl and Fox Tags

I'm joining in on the fun again at 25 Days of Christmas Tags for Day 12.  If you are a newbie like me, then you can read all about it here.  Today's guest was Lawn Fawn.  I was inspired by all the cute tags with Lawn Fawn animals on them.  I didn't have a Lawn Fawn Christmas set but had their Critters In The Forest set. I have had this set a long time and had never even opened it.   I drew the Santa hats with a black liner pen so the animals would look more festive.  I also diecut red felt for the base of my tags.  I used my typewriter again to create the sentiments on each tag.  Hope you are having a good afternoon.  It is rainy here and I have settled in to watch a movie and cuddle with one of my "fur" babies.
These will also be playing at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge of using your oldest Lawn Fawn set.

25 Days Of Christmas Tags -- Little Drummer Boy Tag

I hope you are having a good Saturday.  It is a tag making and watching college football day at my house.  This is day 11 of  25 Days of Christmas Tags which is hosted by Tracey McNeely.  This is the fourth year for this fun event.  If you are a newbie like me, then read all about it here.  I was inspired by several of the tags of Studio Katia which had animals on them.  They reminded me of this little bear playing a drum which in turn reminded me of the Christmas song "Little Drummer Boy."  I used my typerwriter to type some of the lyrics from the the song.  That's all from me for today.  I have our dinner in the crockpot and it will be ready just in time for the Alabama/Mississippi State game.  Roll Tide and Hail State!
