Blue Christmas Card

I went in my craft room to do the new Jingle Belles "Blue Christmas" challenge and my desk flip calendar showed the date July 20th.  I couldn't believe it had been that long since I had creative fun "therapy."  :)   I found this cute polar bear printed panel in an older Recollections paper pad in my stash (or hoard) of papers.  I stamped the sentiment with navy ink in the lower right corner using a Colorado Craft Company stamp.  I die cut letters to spell "joy" out of navy card stock plus white fun foam.  Glued the navy letters over the fun foam to give the letters extra dimension.  Finally I adhered tiny light blue snowflakes to the panel  (Falling Snow Sprinkles by Kat Scrappiness) and was finished with a quick and easy Christmas card.  Yay, one less to make during the busy holiday season!  Thanks for dropping in.  Hope you are able to stay cool on these hot summer days.

Mele Kalikimaka Card

Joining the Penguin Palace Challenge one more time since it was a rainy day and I hung out in my craft room.  Since I don't have any holiday stamps by Penguin Palace, I thought it would be fun to use their Aloha Hawaii stamp set to design a Christmas card.  Do you remember the scene from Christmas Vacation where the song Mele Kalikimaka is being sung?  When I saw the hula girl image, I thought of it!  So here is my first Hawaiian Christmas card ever!

There is also a fun challenge going on at Jingle Belles of using bling.  I used small rhinestones for the centers of the flowers on the hula girl plus on the coconuts on the trees.

Eiffel Tower Tree Card

Joining the Penguin Palace Challenge on this first rainy day in my neck of the woods in a LONG time!  I was happy to see it since it gave me a day off from my daily watering of outside flowers.  I got to go and play in craft room instead which is always fun.  I had to get creative in designing this card since I don't have any holiday Penguin Parade stamps.  In looking through what I had, I saw the Eiffel Tower stamp from the Enchanting Paris set.  I thought it would be fun to create a Christmas tree using the Eiffel Tower image.
There is also a new challenge at Jingle Belles where you are to put bling on your card.  I put small red rhinestones on the Eiffel Tower "tree."   I computer generated the sentiment.

Toys Not Included Card

I was recently crowned queen at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and as a result get to guest design there.  How cool is that!!!! The new challenge is up and it is C Is For Christmas.  You know how I love to do funny cards so I got out my stamps and played "funny Santa."  ha-ha  The stamps are a retired set by Art Impressions for Hampton Art.  I computer generated the sentiment.  The oval die cut is by Spellbinders.  Hope all of you are staying well and cool.  The "real feel" here yesterday was 112 degrees because of the humidity (although the temperature was "only 98"....yea, ONLY 98....wink).  I have to get up EARLY to beat the heat and water all the flowers I planted in the spring (what was I thinking...wink).  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my funny Christmas card (done while I was dreaming of cooler temperatures)!  AND thank you to The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for letting me guest design!

Christmas Is Gnoming Card

I have to confess the extreme hot weather in my area has stopped my creative mojo.  I can't seem to make myself go into my craft room even though it is air conditioned (wink).  I have done every new challenge this year at Jingle Belles though and didn't want to miss one.  So after making myself go into my craft room, I enjoyed making a card after all.  The challenge is Stars Or Stripes and I was able to use both on my card.   I used a set of stamps by Kat Scrappiness called Christmas Gnome.  The striped paper is by Recollections and the star die is by Sizzix.  Let's hope the trend continues although all I want to do in this heat is sit and eat ice cream or float in the pool.  Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay cool!
