Blog Candy and Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge Card

Photobucket

Today's card is one I did for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. The challenge is to create a card based on a movie. There is also one other challenge to the card. You had to add some "bling" too. The movie this week is one of my favorites called "All About Eve." It's a great one with Bette Davis. :) I wanted the card to have something about film/threatre since the character in the movie plays a great stage actress. I nearly danced up and down when I "discovered" in my stash of stamps this image by Stampinback/I Brake For Stamps. I thought it was perfect for this movie! :)

Remember to leave a comment sharing news of my blog (linking to yours) this week. I'm going to be giving away some great Hampton Art stamps, Sizzix, Clearsnap and Art DeClassified products. I'll draw a name from the hat Sunday, October 4th.

I'm in for a fun day. I'm heading out the door to Michael's. The closest one to me is 75 miles away so I don't visit that store very often. Papers, ribbon, stamps...oh my! :)

Leave a post anytime this week for a chance to win some blog candy on Oct. 3rd which is World Card Making Day. My blog is new and I'm trying to get the word out about it, so tell about my blog in your blog and then leave the link in the comments section. I'll draw a name from all the ones that left a comment October 4th.

The rubber stamps are by Hampton Art, the patterned paper by The Paper Studio, the butterfly diecut by Sizzix, the ink pad by Clearsnap, and the red pearls are by KaiserCraft. I also used a circle punch by EK Success and an embossing folder by Cuttlebug (script).

MoJo Monday Week 105 Sketch Challenge

October 31st
This is my first time to play at MoJo Monday. :) I kept this card very basic and it stays true to the sketch except for the top shape. I used the skeleton in a coffin shape instead of the large diamond shape. ;) The striped paper and chipboard pieces are by Imaginisce. Thanks for looking. :)

Caardvarks Sketchfest 2009 Challenge -- 6th Sketch

Halloween Boo
Got up bright and early this morning to do the Caardvarks Sketchfest card. :) The sketch for today holds a lot of potential and I want to file that one in my brain. :) The patterned paper is by Imaginisce (Spooky Town Collection), ribbon by Offray, rub-on by Royal and Langnickel and alphabet stickers by Doodlebug Design. Just for fun I added the google eyes in the "o's" on the "boo."

Better get going....I have an appointment to get my hair cut! That
always makes me feel (and look) better (big wink). :)

Found a new challenge blog that I'm sharing with you.
It is the Saturday Spotlight Hidden Potential Challenge Blog. (Try saying that real fast ten times.) :) Check 'em out! :) See here is more of that valuable knowledge sharing I was telling you about when I started this blog. :)

Caardvarks Sketchfest 2009 Challenge -- 5th Sketch

Give Thanks
Hope this finds you well on a finally sun shining day in Alabama. My youngest is home from school with a yucky stomach virus though. Cross your fingers, toes and eyes that I don't catch it!!!! :)

I did manage to sneak upstairs for a few minutes while she naps. I didn't want to miss keeping up with the Caardvarks Sketchfest going on this week. :) This is what I came up with for today's sketch. It's very simple but I was pleased with the results. :) The patterned papers are by Graphic 45, the rub-on by Royal and Langnickel, the jewel sticker by Prima Marketing and circle punches by EK Success.

Better go start some more washing. I am cleaning everything with Pine-Sol and spraying anything that moves (or doesn't move) with Lysol. :)

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #50

Pretty Woman
I have long been an admirer of the cards done for the
Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. I have never participated before today though. I couldn't resist trying to design a card around the movie "Pretty Woman." :) I had
such fun making this card. I have a feeling I'm going to start doing more of these challenges at Cinema Saturday.

I used a 7 Gypsies journal page as my card base. The Mona Lisa and other tag are by Graphic 45, the brads are by 7 Gypsies, the stickers by K&Co. and My Little Shoebox.
The black chipboard is by Grafix and the key is a die by Sizzix. The canvas flower is by Making Memories and the trim is by The Paper Studio.

Hope you like my "Pretty Woman Mona Lisa" card. :)

Caardvarks Sketchfest 2009 Challenge -- 4th Sketch

Photobucket
Here is my card for the fourth sketch of the Caardvarks Sketchfest. The image of the woman is from a CD by Lunagirl (my favorite source of vintage images.) The papers are by K&Co. (stacked sticker is too) and Prima Marketing, Inc. The embossed image is by Sizzix. Canvas alphabet and canvas brad are by Making Memories. Quick and easy! I'm beginning to think we are going to float away with all this rain. It sure does make good card making weather though. :) Be sure to check back tomorrow to see the new card based on the Caardvarks Sketchfest.

Caardvarks Sketchfest 2009 Challenge -- 3rd Sketch

PhotobucketI'm playing along with Caardvarks this week with their Sketchfest. There will be a new sketch for seven days to work with. This is my card for the third sketch/third day. :) Again I worked with Graphic 45 papers from their Domestic Goddess Collection. The black scalloped circle is black chipboard by Grafix and a Sizzix die was used to cut it. Another rainy/cloudy day in Alabama but you know what that means don't you? Yep, card making weather! :) (As if I needed an excuse....wink, wink!) :)

Vintage FriendsSince it was rainy all day, I got to stay home. It was the perfect weather for making cards. :) I'm playing in the Caardvarks Sketchfest this week and here is my second card. I love all things vintage and am very happy with the way this card turned out. :) The papers are by Graphic 45, rub-ons by Royal & Langnickel, diecuts by Sizzix and the brads are by 7 Gypsies. See you tomorrow. :)

Caardvarks Sketchfest 2009 Challenge -- Card One

Mona How Old?
Sketchfest 2009 over at Caardvarks is going on this week. I thought it would be fun to play along. This card is my take on the sketch. Will share another tidbit about me, I LOVE Mona Lisa. :) I thought this card would make a nice birthday card for someone celebrating their "29th" again. :) Hope your Monday is going great. We woke up to clouds and rain....perfect crafting weather. :)

Is It Getting To Be That Time Of Year????

God Bless Us Everyone
Have you missed me? :) I've been having a more than usual hectic week and have not been able to post or create. :( I've supposed to be on my way out the door right now so this will have to be quick and easy (the best kind). :) I got a wonderful surprise in the mail last Friday from my friend Nancy. She owns
Sugar Lump Studios and has the most awesome stamp images. She sent some Christmas stamps for me to "play" with. How fun is that!!!! :) Today's card is one I made using those stamps. Thanks, Nancy! Got to run, I'm late, I'm late.....(I have mental images of the rabbit from Alice In Wonderland). :)

her 14th birthday. :)

Today's card is a fast and easy one using of my favorite new stamp sets by Hampton Art. I'll go ahead and confess that I have a "thing" for butterflies (as you will

Back To Basics Stamp Set

Back To Basics One
Are you having a busy Thursday? I'm doing lots of laundry which is not one of my
favorite jobs. I should be thankful I was not born in an earlier time and have
a washing machine and dryer. I would be happier though if they knew how to load and
unload themselves. :)

I watched a new TV show last night that was a lot of fun. It is called Glee and is on the FOX network. It is FUNNY!!!! :) If you missed the first episode, you can catch it on Hulu. See there is some more of that valuable knowledge I warned you about when I started this blog on Monday. :)

Today's card features stamps from the Back To Basics set from The Stamps Of Life. This is a brand new stamp company. :) It's a fast and easy card with a little stamping, some coloring, felt trim and some added black brads. Stamps of Life will be releasing a new set October 1st. I can't wait to see it! :)

Better run, the dryer just ordered me to come unload it. :)

Blog Candy Info Share

Don't faint but I'm going to make a second post today. I wanted to share a blog with you that is giving away some very nice "blog candy." :) Go check out Tami Mayberry's A Walk On The Mild Side blog for a chance to win some great "new toys." I don't know about you but I can always welcome new paper, stamps, etc. into my craft room. :) See I told you when I started this blog on Monday that I would be sharing valuable information (inserting a big wink there).

Friends Are Life's Way Card

ApologizingI love to use a funny quote or sentiment on my cards. Sometimes when I find a quote, it will instantly trigger a card in my head. It will remind me of a stamp
I have or the perfect image. :) When I saw the saying on today's card, this was the case. I couldn't wait to get in my craft room and go to work with it.

The rubber stamps are by Hampton Art and the beautiful paper is a journal piece by
7 Gypsies. The image is by Crafty Secrets and the butterfly punch is a Martha Stewart one. I did a zig-zag stitch at the top and bottom with my sewing machine.

That's it for today. Hope you are having a lucky Wednesday since it is 9-9-09. :)

Going In Circles Card

Back To Basics Two
It is a beautiful sunny day in Alabama and I have everyone back at school and work. This makes for some great design time. :) I'm sharing a card that I did with a set of stamps by The Stamps Of Life which is a new company. This is from their first set called "Back 2 Basics." They are clear stamps and some of the best ones I've had the pleasure to use. They make such crisp impressions and are made in the U.S.A (which is always a good thing). :) Check back tomorrow when I'll have another card from this set of stamps.

Hope your Tuesday is going well and you find some time to create. :) Thanks for stopping by. :)

The Stamps Of Life

Back To Basics Three
Welcome to my very first entry for this blog! I know I am one of the last of the "dinosaurs" to not have a blog. Bare with me as I learn all the "ins and outs"
and be warned right now that I am not a "computer genius." :) I will be posting
cards that I have designed plus other bits of valuable knowledge. (Inserting a
BIG wink there). :)

Today I want to share a card that I designed for a brand spankin' new rubber stamp
company called "The Stamps Of Life." I hope you will check them out! I had a lot of
fun with their first set. Come back tomorrow to see another card from their first set. :)

I hope you are having a wonderful and safe Labor Day! See you next time on my "creative path." :)
