Cupid Shaker Card and New Die Storage

Don't you love it when you discover something in your crafty stash you had completely forgotten about?  ;)  This is the case on my card today.  I had forgotten about this Stamps of Life grid die.   I got new thin metal die storage recently and I thought you would like to see photos of it.  ;)  The photo below is the door going into my craft room.  But behind the door is where my new die storage is and I love it!

I got vinyl magnetic sheeting and hung it on the wall.  We used a metal strip at the top and bottom (for thin carpet or linoleum) to anchor the magnetic piece to the wall.  We purchased the magnetic vinyl from a sign printing company here in town.  It comes in a roll and is 24 inches wide.  You can have it cut any length you want (mine is 6 feet long).  It is white on the side where things are printed and the back side is black and magnetic  (which is the side you expose for the dies to stick to).  If you are wondering what is in the hanging shoe storage bag, it is punches.

It is hidden behind the door.  I am using this storage for odds and ends because I had outgrown the box storage on my desk.  This box is full of nested dies and is handy when I am working.  But the storage on the wall is wonderful for seeing your dies and knowing what you have....so maybe I won't forget a die....as I did  with the grid die on this card.  ;)
Now back to my shaker card.  Winnie & Walter is celebrating their fourth year of business during the month of February with some fun challenges.  This card is for Lea's Shaker Card Challenge with a love theme.  I used some gold Cupid confetti and tiny micro red beads in the four shaker squares along the bottom.  The Cupid is from my stash and is a Jolee's Boutique sticker.  The stamps are by Winnie & Walter (Sending You Set).  I'm going to be joining these challenges with my Cupid Shaker Card:
Winnie & Walter (Love Shaker Card)
Shopping Our Stash (He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not)
Watercooler Wednesday (Anything Goes)
Mod Squad (Valentine - Love)
Die Cut Divas (Love Is In The Air)
Just Add Ink (Just Add Romance)
Tic Tac Toe (I chose row of sentiment, red and heart.)

Hot Snowman and Coffee Cards

I have three cards to share with you today.  The first one is the result of playing with my Silhouette Cameo I got for Christmas  I cut out all the elements of this die cut design in white cardstock.  Then I colored the nose, scarf, mitten, cup and heart with Copic markers.  (I found the design here.)  This seemed like it would be faster than trying to cut each thing out from a different cardstock.  I'm all about fast and easy.  ;)  The snowflake border stamp is by Hampton Art.  My hot snowman is going to be joining the following challenges:

Stamping Sensations (Cold and Frosty Colors)

Simply Create Too (Embossing/Wet Or Dry)

Addicted To Stamps (Baby, It's Cold Outside)

My second card is all about two of my favorite things....books and coffee!  There is nothing better than enjoying a good book with a good cup of coffee.  Are you reading anything good currently?  My latest book is "The Heart's Invisible Furies" by John Boyne.  I got it a few months ago from Book of the Month Club and have just started it.  I can tell it is going to be a good one.  The sentiment stamps are by STAMPlorations and the patterned paper and cup die are by Jillibean Soup.  The word die is by Lil'Inkers.  This "happy books and coffee" card is going to link up at:

Fusion Card Challenge (Coffee and a Book)

CAS-ual Fridays (More Coffee Please)

Coffee Lover's Blog (Sketch Challenge)

I was playing with the Silhouette Cameo again on my third card.  I created the Coffee word die cut from black card stock using it.  I love being able to size my word die cuts to what I need.  The stamped cup and sentiment are by Casual Fridays stamps (Peace, Love and Coffee Set).  The patterned paper is by Jillibean Soup.  Again, fast and easy which means I got to craft plus had time to read and drink a cup of coffee.  ;)  I'm going to link up this card at:

Mod Squad Challenge (Rainbows)

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge (More Coffee Please)

Party Animals Card

I played with my new Silhouette Cameo making today's card.  I created the black cardstock die cut frame with it on this card.  I found it in the Silhouette Design Store and you can see it here.
I wanted this card to be fun and playful so colored it with bright colored markers.  The challenge at As You Like It is favorite die and why.  Choosing a favorite die is like asking me to choose my favorite child.  :)  In other words impossible.  So I'm going to say TODAY my favorite die is Dotted Label by Loni Stevens.  These party animals are going to be acting up at the following challenges:

Time Out Challenge (Inspired By Words)

Naughty or Nice Challenge (I chose to play "nice" with this birthday celebration.)  ;)

Paru's Card Making Challenge (New -- I used my NEW Silhouette Cameo.)

As You Like It Challenge (Favorite Die and Why -- My current favorite is Dotted Label because it is different and versatile.)

CARD RECIPE:
Stamps -- Neat & Tangled (Wild Ones)
Ink Pad - Clearsnap (Wicked Black)
Markers -- Staedtler
Cardstock -- Recollections (Red, Yellow and Black)
Die Cut Label -- Silhouette Design Store (Dotted Labels by Loni Stevens)
Enamel Stars -- Jillibean Soup
Star Spangles -- JoAnn's Stores, Inc.
Pop Dots -- All Night Media

I got out and bought groceries this afternoon.   After a week of being home because of cold weather plus snow and ice, it was nice being out in civilization.  ;)  I am now stocked up for the next cold wave.  I rather enjoyed staying home during last week's weather though.  It was perfect for card making, reading and binge watching Netflix. (Hubby and I are now on second season of Frontier.  I was a history major and love it.)  ;)
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by to visit.

Swell Kitchen Card

I hope you are having a warm and crafty good day.  We are having our second "snow" day at home with the roads icy and temperatures extremely cold.  It makes for a nice time in the old craft room though.  Double D Challenge has a theme of "Kitchen Is The Heart Of The Home" this week.  That sounded like fun and I wanted to join it for sure!  I remembered some dies by Sizzix which had a l950's retro kitchen look.  I also got in my box of kitchen and recipe related stamps to find the images stamped along the bottom.  This swell homemaker is going to be joining the following challenges:

Double D Challenges (Kitchen Theme)

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge (Anything Goes With Patterned Paper)

First Twofer Challenge -- Friendship Card and Sympathy Card

Today is a good day because it is the first challenge for the Twofer Card Challenge.  You are to create two cards from the same stamp set and/or dies.  The cards are to be different and for different occasions.  You have to photograph your two cards in one photo.  Sound like something you would be interested in?  You can check it out here.

This is the first card I did and it has a friendship theme.  The stamp set I used was by Jillibean Soup and the feather die by Cuttlebug.  I'm also going to link this card up at Stamping Sensations for a Cold and Frosty Colors Challenge (blues, purples, silver and white).

My second card has a sympathy theme.  I used the same stamp set and feather die plus the same colors (I thought it would look better in the twofer photograph since they have to "share..")  ;)  This card is going to also join the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown of Layer It Up.

CARD RECIPE:
Stamps -- Jillibean Soup (jb1318)
Ink Pad -- Clearsnap (Wicked Black)
Cardstocks -- Recollections
Feather Die Cut -- Cuttlebug
Stitched Die Cuts -- Gina Marie Designs (Stitched Squares and Stitched Rectangles)

You Are Such A Deer Card

Today was my first "back to normal" day since the holiday season begin back in December.  It was nice getting to be crafty this afternoon.  I used the Christmas present (Silhouette Cameo 3) my daughters surprised me with for this card.  I still have a lot to learn but at least I have figured out how to cut with it.  Once I figure out more about the design software I'll be happy.  The die cut design (Deer In Birch Forest) is from the Silhouette Design store and can be found here.  For a first card using my new Silhouette Cameo though, I was very pleased with it.  My deer are going to be playing at these challenges:

Mod Squad Challenge -- Color Throwdown (Use only kraft, black and white.)

Jingle Belles -- Look What Santa Brought Me (My Santa "daughters" gave me a Silhouette Cameo.)

Just Us Girls (Anything Goes)

Peace Love and Coffee Card

Sharing my second card for the final day of the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  It has been a fun week creating coffee cards.  This is my first winter one and I have enjoyed it so much.  Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I were not also scrambling around trying to decorate the house, wrap presents and a hundred other things at once!  ;)  All I like being finished is doing all my "Christmas cooking" and it starts tomorrow big time....so I better go and rest!  :)

CARD RECIPE:
Stamps -- Casual Fridays
Ink Pads -- Distress Oxide Ink Pad and Clearsnap (Wicked Black)
Circle Punches -- EK Success
Cardstock -- Recollections
Pop Dots -- All Night Media

Peppermint Spice Card

I managed to slip away to my craft room and create some final cards for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop today.  The Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is always fun but the winter one has been a blast.    I'll keep this short as I have Christmas cooking to do.  I went to the grocery store today so let the baking begin.  ;)

CARD RECIPE:
Stamps -- Newton's Nook
Ink Pad -- Clearsnap (Wicked Black)
Cardstock -- Recollections
Mini Tag -- Hampton Art
Baker's Twine -- The Twinery

25 Days Of Christmas Tags -- Tree and Snow Tag

This is day 24 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags (read all about it here.)  This tag was inspired by Holly Endress's tag with the tree on it.  I am calling this my "failed experiment tag."  I inked up a tag made from watercolor paper with distress oxide ink in Candied Apple.  I was going to heat emboss a big white polka dot background on it with a Winnie & Walter stamp.  BUT when I put the embossing powder on the tag, it covered up the WHOLE tag and the dots disappeared!  I decided I liked it though (it is pretty "in person").  The whole tag is heat embossed with white embossing powder which reminds me of snow!  With a stamped tree and sentiment plus the white snowflake spangles, it becomes quite festive!  I used some red and green snowflake ribbon at the top plus Christmas colored twine for the finishing touch.  Hope you are enjoying your Black Friday and finding lots of bargains.  I may have to do some stamp shopping since some of my favorite companies are having online sales today.  Shopping in my favorite chair is the way I roll on Black Friday.  ;)

CARD RECIPE:
Stamps -- Hampton Art
Ink Pads -- Clearsnap (Wicked Black and Watermark) & Distress Oxide (Candied Apple)
Embossing Powder -- Clearsnap (White)
Watercolor Paper -- Canson
Ribbon -- American Crafts
Christmas Twine -- Recollections
Misc. -- Snow Spangles

Meow-tain of Fun Card

I'm having too many "life" interruptions to get to stay very long in my craft room.  I managed to squeeze in a few minutes this afternoon to create one more card for the Cat Lover's Hop.  This image and sentiment are new ones I recently got from Art Impressions.  I had forgotten about them so imagine my delight when I was gathering up my cat stamps for the hop.  Again, the little things that make me happy....finding forgotten "treasures."  Big wink!  These climbing kitties are going to be linking up at:

All You Need Card

I am having my crafty time interrupted today by having to work.  I know, I know....life is just so unfair!  (Big wink.)  Ordinarily I wouldn't mind except it is ruining my plans to make cat cards for the Cat Lover's Hop.  BUT never fear, I solved that dilemma!!!  I got up an hour earlier and made a couple of cards.  Never say I am not devoted to the "cause."   I also have plans to make one or two tonight if I am not too tired.  We'll see how it goes.....maybe the craft room will win but the recliner will also be in the bidding war.  (Wink.)  The big image on this card is from a Journaling and Ephemera package by Graphic 45 in their Raining Cats and Dogs collection.  The expression on that vintage lady looks like she swallowed the canary....rather devious.  I hope she doesn't eat the cat too!  These two are going to be joining in on the fun at:

Cat Lover's Hop (Cat Themed)

Southern Girls (Crazy For Critters)

CCEE Stampers Challenge (Include A Cat On Your Creation)

2 Crafty Critter Crazies (Anything Goes With A Critter)

CARD RECIPE:
Stamp -- Hampton Art (IC0315 Raining Cats and Dogs 2)
Ink Pad -- Clearsnap (Wicked Black)
Cardstock -- Bazzill
Ephemera -- Graphic 45 (Raining Cats and Dogs Collections)
Embossing Folder -- Sizzix
Wood Word Banner -- Michael's Stores, Inc.
Hemp Cord -- Hemptique (Black)
Foam Tape -- Scotch/3M

Butterfly Circles "Birthday" Card

Butterfly Circles
Hope you had a wonderful weekend. It was a special one at my house. My youngest had
her 14th birthday. :)

Today's card is a fast and easy one using of my favorite new stamp sets by Hampton Art. I'll go ahead and confess that I have a "thing" for butterflies (as you will
see in upcoming months). :)

Better get back to work. Hope your Monday is off to a great start.
