Best Day Ever Card

Hampton Art Best Day Ever Card
Happy New Year! Here's wishing all my crafty friends a happy 2013! I'm sharing a fun card that is also on the Hampton Art blog today. The image is one of the Graphic 45 A Lady's Diary images by Hampton Art. The glitter stickers are by KI Memories. The patterned polka dot paper is by Diecuts With A View. The diecuts are Sizzix Framelits.
I'm looking forward to watching the Rose Parade and spending a lazy day by the fire reading and watching movies with my family. After all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, it will be nice to have a "slow" day. Happy New Year!

Survived Christmas 2012

Project Two I'm So Sorry Card
Well, I survived another Christmas (barely). :) As I get older I seem to have a harder and harder time getting everything ready for Christmas. I even start a little earlier each year trying to prevent this. BUT on the upside, I also seem to enjoy the day more too. Spending time with my girls is priceless. :) I was supposed to share these two cards the day after Christmas but to be truthful, I had a memory lapse. Let's just say it was too much turkey (actually too much everything). :) Another fact about Christmas is the exhaustion afterwards so I "forgot." :) They were up on the Hampton Art blog on the 26th though. Better late than never here is a good motto though. (Wink, wink.) :)

Merry Christmas

Hampton Art November Project Two
Dropping in to say "Merry Christmas" to all my crafty friends today. Sharing a couple of cards I did for Hampton Art (and are on their blog today)too. This is a "quickie" post as I still have lots to do in the kitchen (just put lots of "new" Christmas songs on my Zune, so I'll be "jammin' and cookin'"). :) Here's hoping all your Christmas wishes come true and Happy New Year!

For my card, I used papers from DCWV's Heirloom Christmas Stack. The stamps are from Hampton Art's Graphic 45 Nutcracker series. I used Clearsnap ink (Colorbox Metallic Q) I also used some rub-ons by Royal Brush and a flower by Prima Marketing. Here are the products I used plus what you can win. :)

World Card Making Day Trend Challenge Card

Guten Tag Card
I was determined to do all five of the challenges at Ellen Hutson's Classroom Blog. This is the last one. You were to create a card with a current trend. Since I had a new chevrons embossing folder plus chevrons border stamp, I decided I needed to "go
chevrons" as my trend. :) The stamps are by Gina K Designs and the patterned paper is by BoBunny. I used some mini script flowers by Prima Marketing with mini black brads to attach them with. Speaking of mini, I tried my new mini doughnut maker for the first time today. I almost laugh when I say "new" because I bought it back in April.
I had bought a cinnamon sugar doughnut mix at Kohl's to use with it too. It worked great and the doughnuts were really good. In fact they were much better than I ever expected and can't figure out why I hadn't used it sooner! It takes four minutes to do six of the mini doughnuts. It was even easy to clean. :) I have a feeling we'll be using it a lot the next few months. Maybe I waited because I know doughnuts and hot tea are in order for the colder months coming up. Wink. :)

World Cardmaking Day Pinterest Photo Challenge Card

Pinterest Inspiration Challenge Photo
I did the below card using the Pinterest photo above for "inspiration." This was a challenge at Ellen Hutson's Classroom Blog. I had to put my "thinking cap" on for this one. :)
OK Birthday Card
I finally settled on patterned paper by BoBunny that resembled the flowers on the photo. I tried to use all the main colors in the photo too. The sentiment stamps are by Gina K Designs. The chipboard OK sentiment is by GCD Studios. The diecut is a Sizzix Framelit. I finished it off with photo corners and jewels in kiwi and purple. So how did I do? I can see elements in the photo on my card (but I may be the only one.) Wink. :)

World Cardmaking Day Sketch Challenge Card

Hello Bicycles Card
Sharing another card I did this afternoon for World Cardmaking Day. This card is based on a sketch challenge at Ellen Hutson's Classroom Blog. I used stamps by Hero Arts (the bicycle and typewriter alphabet) with matching Sizzix Framelits to cut the shapes (bicycle and pennants). The papers are by Little Yellow Bicycle. The large diecut is also by Sizzix. I used a chevron embossing folder by Sizzix. I finished it off with white brads. Easy peasy...the best kind.
My hubby surprised me this afternoon by taking me to a movie. We went to see the new Clint Eastwood movie "Trouble With The Curve." I didn't have the heart to tell him I would rather stay home and make cards.....He didn't know it was a cardmaking holiday. Wink. :)

World Cardmaking Day Scene It Challenge Card

Joy Reindeer Card
Here's another challenge card for the Ellen Hutson Classroom Blog. This challenge was to create a "scene it" card. I did a quick and fun card using Hero Arts stamps with matching Sizzix Framelits to cut them out. I also used some Sizzix embossing folders for added texture. I colored the reindeer image with Copic markers but used colored inks by Clearsnap on the the other stamped images. I finished it off with some tiny colored star brads found at Michael's. I hope you've had as much fun today as I have making cards. :)

World Cardmaking Day 1st Challenge Card

Naughty List Card
Happy World Cardmaking Day! This has to be my favorite holiday! :) I'm sharing a card I did for the first challenge at Ellen Hutson's Classroom blog. The challenge was to make a holiday greetings card. I used a new stamp set by Unity Stamp Company which has the cute sentiment and Santa image. The puffy stitched trees are by KI Memories. The pretty blue "glitter" cardstock is by Diecuts With A View. I colored the Santa image and highlighted the torn strips of snow with Copic markers. If you like fast and easy, then this is the card for you. :) Hope you liked my card. I'll be back lots today with different cards for all the goings on of World Cardmaking Day. :) I even have a parade to attend later this afternoon. Our little town has a fall festival each year in October. My youngest daughter will be marching with the school band in the festival's parade. So mom here will be there will bells on and a camera in hand. :)

Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop

RRR-Hampton Art blog hop badge (2)

Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon and Hampton Art Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop. I'm so excited to be a part of this blog hop. :) My grandmother had breast cancer many years ago and was a survivor so this blog hop theme is very true to my heart. You'll want to check out the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Rambling Blog plus the Hampton Art Blog for details about prizes during this hop. :) Now let me share the card I did:

Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop

I used Hampton Art's Graphic 45 A Ladies Diary cling stamps for my image and sentiment.
A-Ladies'-Diary-Cling-2-500x500
I also used their Think Pink ribbon image (KN2456). After stamping the images, I did some basic coloring with my Copic markers. I used some pink crocheted lace by May Arts which is found at Really Reasonable Ribbon. If you think the flowers on the card look "real", that's because they are. Diecuts With A View has some pressed petals which I thought were perfect for this card. I used their Pink Larkspur which can be seen here.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Remember to leave a comment at each of the participating blogs for a chance at great prizes from Hampton Art and Really Reasonable Ribbon. Details about prizes are on the Hampton Art blog and the Really Reasonable Ribbon Ramblings blog. If you are doing the whole blog hop, then you came here from Dawn's blog. You'll want to go to my pal Gloria's blog next and remember THINK PINK!

You're Vintage Birthday Card

Vintage Birthday Card
Here's a quick card I did for the Hampton Art blog. Hampton Art has teamed up with 7 Gypsies for some great stamp images. The sentiment on the bottom is one of those. I think anyone would love to have this saying on their birthday card (I know I would since I'm definitely falling into the vintage category). :) You can see the stamp here. I used some papers and cardstock by Diecuts With A View. The flowers are by Prima Marketing while the large decorative brad is by My Mind's Eye. I used a Wicked Black Archival ink pad by Clearsnap. Finish it with a label tape "happy birthday" sentiment for a fast and easy birthday card. :)

Vintage Anniversary Card

Happily Ever After Card
How about a "fun" anniversary card today? :) This one was posted on the Hampton Art
blog last week. I've always loved to create cards with vintage photos and "funny" sentiments. :) The stamps are by Hampton Art and can be found here. The patterned paper is by Diecuts With A View while the flowers are by Prima Marketing with a decorative brad by My Mind's Eye. Finish it off with some photo corners by Canson and a label tape sentiment by Dymo and you have a fast and easy card. :)

Hope you have a beautiful afternoon planned. I'm loving this autumn weather. My favorite thing to do in the fall is go outside and read. It's perfect weather to sit on the front porch and "escape" with a good book. Speaking of good books, there is a nice giveaway over at the "Are You Finished?" blog. You could win a copy of Into The Forest by Jean Hegland or if you prefer a $10 Amazon gift certificate (for book of your choice). I stayed up late last night reading and finishing In The Shadow of the Banyon Tree (which I recommend). :) Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your fall day.

After being absent from my blog for a long time, I am back. I have had a "tough" summer. It seems like it was spent being sad. My mother was ill and in the hospital for weeks and then on to hospice and finally passed away a few weeks ago. On top of this, my oldest daughter was in the process of moving far away from home. She had graduated from college in May and was spending time home with us before her move. But I am back today and hope you will join me again as I try to get back to regular posting of my creative endeavors. :) So on to today's post!

It is one I did for Hampton Art (and is being posted on their blog today as well). I wanted to do something with butterflies which make me "happy." I have lots of flowers in my yard and have seen some of the prettiest butterflies the last few weeks. :) Thanks for stopping by. Hope your summer has been a blessed one filled with lots of butterflies. :)

The {Stamps} of Life July Release

SOL July Blue Without You Card
Can you believe it is July 1st? Wow, where has this year gone! Sharing some cards I did with the new July release by The {Stamps} of Life. It is a fun set with lots of possibilities called "crayons2stamp." Here's four fast and easy cards I did with it.
SOL July Yellow My Friend Card
SOL July Green With Envy Card
SOL July Red In The Face Card
I've had my Mini Cooper for three weeks. Have had some problems with the driver's side window not going down. (You should have seen me pull up at the drive-in window at the bank. Could not get it to go down, so had to drive on. My face matched the car. Wink.) I'm getting it fixed though so everything is good (unless the motor falls out). :) I still haven't taken a picture of "Minnie." It's so hot here that going outside to do anything is awful. It's so bad I'm wishing I had not planted all those flowers that HAVE to be watered everyday. I come in and nearly have to "cut" my clothes off cause they're wet. (Isn't that a pretty picture?)

Runway Inspired Challenge #13

Runway Inpired Challenge Number 13
Runway Inspired Challenge #13 drew my attention because of the bright houndstooth patterns. When I remembered a houndstooth butterfly stamp by Unity Stamp Company I knew I had to "play" along. ;) I heat embossed the butterfly images plus sentiments with black embossing powder on bright colored cardstock by Diecuts With A View. The bright pearls are new ones by Doodlebug Design. I have fallen in love with heat embossing all over again. I never used to do much because I kept my heat gun stuck away in a drawer (across the room). I would "think" of embossing but it was always a lot of trouble getting up, finding the embossing gun, plugging it in, etc. By the time I did all that, I could have already stamped the image. Then a few weeks ago, it hit me....why didn't I keep the heat gun plugged in and sitting on my work table? Such an elementary concept but one I had not thought of before (probably because of the "neat freak" in me). :) Now all I have to do is reach for it...I still have to get up for the embossing powders but hey, I need to exercise ever once in a while (wink). :) Course it created another problem, now I want more colors of embossing powders (as if I need an excuse to shop). :)
Houndstooth Butterfly Card
If you have been keeping up with my Mini Cooper "adventure", then cross your fingers, toes and eyes (ouch) for delivery today. Yep, it's possible I might have it by late this afternoon. If not, then definitely in the morning (course when I typed definitely, I shook my head). When I finally get it, I'll take a picture and post on the blog....just to prove to you AND MYSELF I got it. Wink. :) Then wave at all red Mini Coopers you see, cause it might be ME. :)

Friend Cards

Hello Friend Card
Have a card that fits two blog challenge sites today. Casual Friday's new challenge is called "Sweet Spots." Love this challenge as you get to use polka dots (one of my favorite things). Stampin' for the Weekend has a "bugs and butterflies" challenge which if you know me, I am a butterfly "collector" (in stamps and crafty goodness anyway).
I used clear cut shapes by Little Yellow Bicycle for my images. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts. I created the large polka dots with my Sizzix eClips (cardstock by Diecuts With A View). Fast and simple is my motto (especially in summer when I want to be outside reading, swimming, etc.)

Be A Friend Card
I also did a card for the PaperPlay Challenge of "Back to Kraft Basics." This card has kraft cardstock by The Paper Company and patterned papers by Diecuts With A View (also the clear sentiment sticker). The stamps are by Hampton Art and were heat embossed with black embossing powder (and then colored with a Copic marker). Easy peasy.

If you have been keeping up with my mini cooper adventure, I finally have a date (maybe) when I will get it. The dealer called yesterday and it's going be delivered to my house late Monday afternoon OR Tuesday morning. I don't usually want the weekend to speed up but this one is already going too slow. Wink. :) So remember if you see a red mini cooper (jerking or stalling....cause it is a manual/straight shift and I'm "rusty"), don't forget to wave.
Oh and if I am on a hill, don't get too close....cause I might roll backwards....just kidding....maybe. :)

Wonderful World Card

Wonderful World Card
Market Street Stamps is having a block party with the chance to win some goodies. :) Here is my card I made using their stamps. If you haven't checked them out, then you are missing out on some really fun images. The set I used is called "It Takes Love." The patterned papers are by We R Memory Keepers. The silk flowers are by Bazzill and the felt flowers are by American Crafts (topped with button brads by Karen Foster). Fast and easy which is the best kind in summer when school is out, books to be read on the front porch and pretty flowers waiting to be watered. :)

Went to pick up my "new" red mini cooper Wednesday afternoon after some delays with the window getting fixed. The dealer had it all clean and waxed and looking oh so good. My hubby wanted to drive it home to "check" it out (and being the good wife I am, I "let" him...wink). So I am following him down the highway grinning from ear to ear looking at the cute car in front of me (thinking the whole time, I can't believe I bought it and it is MINE). :) We have gone nearly 30 miles and hubby pulls over. I think to myself, "how sweet, he is going to let me drive the remaining 30 miles home."
Instead I hear, "the window (driver's side) won't go up or down." SO we turn around and drive back to the dealer where we have to leave my "new" red mini cooper and I don't have it yet! (Insert hysterical sobbing here....wink). :) They are going to deliver it to my house when the problem is fixed....maybe today, maybe tomorrow, or maybe who knows! Grrrrrr. This waiting is agony I tell ya. :)

Call Me Anytime Card

Call Me Anytime Card
I have a fast and easy card for you today that fits two blog challenge sites. Casual Friday's challenge is "put a bling on it." I used glittered red cardstock by Diecuts With A View and one red rhinestone for my bling. The challenge at Cupcake Crafts is called "tags, you're it" which is to have a tag on your creation. I used a Sizzix Framelit to create my tag. The stamp is by Unity Stamp Company and the ribbon was found at Hobby Lobby.

I hope your week is going well. I'm excited today as I get to pick up my "new" red Mini Cooper. I've been looking at them a while and last week found a good deal on a used one. This is also the first car I've ever bought myself with "my" money. This one has a manual transmission. My first car when I was sixteen was a red MG convertible my dad bought. It was a manual transmission with the first gear stripped so I had to start off in second gear everytime (which made for thrilling starts....plus the heater and radio didn't work). But I loved that car and boy did I look "good" in it (course I was sixteen too....wink). :) So if you see a red Mini Cooper zipping down the highway, wave big cause it just might be me. :)

Body and Mind Birthday Card

Body and Mind Birthday Card
Sharing a fun birthday card I did for three challenge blogs. I used the sketch at Papertake Weekly for the design. Casual Friday's challenge was to use designer papers on a masculine card. The Simon Says Stamp challenge was called "one for the boys." I had a great time coloring my Gina K Designs rubber stamped image with Copics.
The cardstock and patterned paper are by Diecuts With A View (Summer Days Collection). I also cut apart a rub-on by Diecuts With A View for the sentiments on this one.

I don't know if summer has arrived at your house but it is at mine full force. I went swimming this afternoon and the water is already "warm" (still feels good though). :) We're watching the mini series on the History Channel too. I'm beginning to think those "Hatfields and McCoys" don't like each other very much. Wink. :)

Birthday Banners Card

HA May Project Two Birthday Banners Card
Sharing a fun card I did for Hampton Art using the Party Time cling stamp set "one more time." :) This one is at the Hampton Art blog today too. :) All you need for this one is some cardstock, markers and a little ribbon. Fast and easy so you can get outside and enjoy your summer. :)

Happy Memorial Day! I need to get busy in the kitchen getting things ready for tonight's BBQ (hubby is doing his "famous" ribs). My contribution is going to be baked beans and a pasta salad (and possibly a Buttermilk Pie.) :) Want to get done so I can spend the day outside by the pool with a good book. :) Sounds good to me...wink! :)

Time To Celebrate Card

HA May Project Three Birthday Cake Card
All right, who's ready for cake? :) This is a card I did for Hampton Art (and on their blog today) with a stamp set I LOVE. :) The set is Party Time and soooo much fun. I used the new Sizzix Framelit Fancy Labels #3 for the diecuts. The embossing folder is also by Sizzix. Throw in some flowers, bakers' twine and a brad for a fast but ohhh so delicious card. Wink. Happy Friday...I have many errands to run today plus getting things ready for a fun Memorial Day weekend. Hope you have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend too. :)

Make A Wish Card

HA May Project One Make A Wish Card
Sharing a card I did for Hampton Art using one of their new sets called "Party Time" (ICO157). I also used a premade card by Studio G as my base. I traced it onto patterned paper, cut and adhered to the premade card. The patterned papers are by Echo Park. It's a fun card where you get to "color" using your alcohol markers. :) This card is also up at the Hampton Art blog today. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great Tuesday.

Hello Gorgeous Card

Hello Gorgeous Card
I have a new stamp set by Penny Black called "Hello Gorgeous" and it makes me feel like a kid again. Remember how we used to love drawing and coloring "clothes"....using our imagination that we were "designers?" :) Well this set is like being "young" again. :) I made this card for a pink and black challenge over at Charisma Cardz. I could not resist because pink and black are probably my favorite color combo. Pink and black always looks so striking together. The patterned papers are by Diecuts With A View. I used a oval Sizzix Framelit to trim the sentiment shape. Those large pink jewels are by Glitz Designs. Will close as I am headed for a nap. I stayed up way too late working last night and it has caught up with me. It is clouding up and looking like rain....oh, the perfect time to settle down for pleasant "rest period." :) Thanks for stopping by.

Little Kisses Mother's Day Card

Little Kiss Mother's Day Card
I managed to find a little time yesterday to craft. There were some fun challenges I wanted to participate in. It's funny how time goes sooo fast in my craft room but slower in other parts of the house (like the laundry room...wink).
Stampin' For The Weekend has a "4 layers" challenge and matting does not count. This one was hard for me but I "think" I got it right. :) Paper Sundae's challenge was to do a Mother's Day card. Paper Play's challenge was to use your stamps with pins and pearls. I used several items from Little Yellow Bicycle's Swoon collection on this card(patterned paper, cardstock stickers, stick pins, pearls and printed chipboard). The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts. The key diecut is by Sizzix (along with the white chipboard). The ribbons are by Diecuts With A View. Hope you like my little "masterpiece" for Mother's Day. :) Thanks for stopping by and happy Monday! :)

Runway Inspiration Challenge #11 Card

Runway Inspiration Thanks Card
I discovered a new challenge site (to me anyway). :) It is called Runway Inspired Challenge Blog. :) I love the idea of this one. You look at a fabulous runway photo by a designer and let it "inspire" you. This week's designer is Christian Dior. I chose patterned paper by Little Yellow Bicycle. The stamp is by Hero Arts. The black rhinestone swirls are by Recollections and the crystal "buckle" is by The Paper Studio. Hope you had a fun Saturday. We got lots accomplished plus managed to have fun too. My hubby surprised me and grilled our dinner tonight. Anytime I get out of being in the kitchen is a reason to celebrate as far as I'm concerned. :) Drop by again soon.

Mother's Day Bouquet Card

Mother's Day Bouquets Card Papertake Weekly has a sketch challenge this week plus a fabulous prize to Simon Says Stamp. Those two things are enough to make you want to go to your craft room and "play." :) I chose to create a Mother's Day card using some silver foil board by Grafix. I had 3-D stickers Royal Brush sent to me which reminded me of "Mother's Day" for some reason (probably because they were pink). :) The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts (Celebrate Everyday set) and I heat embossed it with silver powder. The embossing folder is a new one by Sizzix which you can find here. The pink cardstock and patterned paper are by Diecuts With A View (Spring Fling stacks found at my local JoAnns). I've always found it hard to photograph foil board. The photos of it don't look as pretty as it does in person so you'll have to take my word the card is actually prettier "in person." :) Better get up and get to work. I have a few more flowers to plant today. I've done most of my "flower" planting this spring but bought a few more yesterday while grocery shopping. Our local grocery has flowers out front for sale a few weeks in the spring. Even though I always think I'm through, when I go by those little plants....some manage to come home with me each time I shop there. I guess I'm not happy until I have about an hour's worth of plants to water every day in the summer. What seems like a good idea in the cooler spring suddenly becomes a questionable idea in the hot, humid summer. Wink! :)
