Mother's Day Bouquet Card
Papertake Weekly has a sketch challenge this week plus a fabulous prize to Simon Says Stamp. Those two things are enough to make you want to go to your craft room and "play." :) I chose to create a Mother's Day card using some silver foil board by Grafix. I had 3-D stickers Royal Brush sent to me which reminded me of "Mother's Day" for some reason (probably because they were pink). :) The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts (Celebrate Everyday set) and I heat embossed it with silver powder. The embossing folder is a new one by Sizzix which you can find here.
The pink cardstock and patterned paper are by Diecuts With A View (Spring Fling stacks found at my local JoAnns). I've always found it hard to photograph foil board. The photos of it don't look as pretty as it does in person so you'll have to take my word the card is actually prettier "in person." :) Better get up and get to work. I have a few more flowers to plant today. I've done most of my "flower" planting this spring but bought a few more yesterday while grocery shopping. Our local grocery has flowers out front for sale a few weeks in the spring. Even though I always think I'm through, when I go by those little plants....some manage to come home with me each time I shop there. I guess I'm not happy until I have about an hour's worth of plants to water every day in the summer. What seems like a good idea in the cooler spring suddenly becomes a questionable idea in the hot, humid summer. Wink! :)

Time To Laugh Card
Creative Card Crew's current challenge is a "kraft" one (use kraft cardstock on your creation). I managed to find some "play" time so I could enter. I took some patterned text paper and stamped a light green "typewriter" background using a Hampton Art stamp. I adhered this to kraft cardstock for my card "base." The borders were created using a clear and shiney decorative tape by Prima Marketing and applying it to kraft cardstock. The Frida Kahlo image is by Lunagirl. The embellishments are some old ones I had stashed away (by Girl's Paperie, Heidi Swapp and The Paper Studio). Not a hard card but one that makes me happy....a "no reason" card that was soooo much fun to make. Woke up to rain and dark clouds but what a wonderful day to stay in and "hide out" in my craft studio. :) Hope the sun is shining where you are but if not "dance in the rain." :)

The "Box"
I have to share what the nice UPS man delivered to my house yesterday afternoon. It was my design team box from Hampton Art I had been anxiously waiting on. Even my fur babies knew something was up cause they had to check it out too. They know a good thing. Wink! :)
Dixie couldn't even wait for me to get the "crafty goodness" out of the box. She had to dive in "first." (Isn't that just like a woman?) :)
I spread everything on the floor so I could "ooooh and ahhhh" over it. There will be some fun times in the 'ole craft room now. :) I'm looking forward to a creative weekend! :) If you haven't seen all the new Hampton Art products, go check out their new 2012 catalog.

Hampton Art Designer of the Day
Today's my day over at the Hampton Art blog to be spotlighted. I know you'll want to "read all about me," so check it out. :) I'm sharing one of my "famous fast and easy" cards today. I love to take funny sayings and put them with vintage style ladies (or in general funny cards period). You know how special it is to receive a handmade card in the mail but how about one that makes you smile or giggle too. :) I heat embossed the Fashionista stamp by Hampton Art with black embossing powder. The sentiment was computer generated with Mom's Typewriter font. I used a Sizzix fringed flower die on black chipboard to create the flower. The papers are by Diecuts With A View and the brad is by Pink Paislee. Thanks for stopping by on this beautiful Thursday. :)

Birdcage Card
Here's a quick card I did for two challenge sites. Paper Play's challenge is to do a "shaped card" (anything but a square or rectangle). Charisma Cardz has a chipboard and/or stickers challenge. I used my Sizzix eClips to cut my card shape of a birdcage. I used a layered sticker by My Mind's Eye on a white chipboard circle. I finished it with some red rhinestones and there you have a unique shaped fast and easy card. I stamped "Happy Bird Day" (by Hampton Art) on the inside behind the circle (so it wouldn't show thru on the front). I had a fun day of crafting and planting flowers outside. I even got two boxes of crafty goodies delivered by FedEx. (Don't you love they deliver on Saturdays?) :) My hubby also surprised me with dinner out so I didn't have to cook (see I told you I had a fun day). Wink. :)
Paris, Paris, Paris Card
Pixie Dust Paperie has a fun challenge going on called "Fly Away With Me." You are to create a project related to a city (Paris, Rome, etc.). Anytime I get an excuse to do a Paris theme, I'm in. :) I used stamps by Hero Arts and papers by Diecuts With A View (new Tres Chic collection). The "Paris" is heat embossed with black detail powder by Stampendous. Throw in some black lace, black wrinkled ribbon and a charm and there you have another fast and easy card.
Course I had to use the trusty Dymo label maker too. (I've got to use more self restraint with it.) :) Looks like a beautiful Saturday morning with the sun shining but a bit "cool." Lots of errands and chores so will keep this post short. Have a fun day!

Hampton Art Well Dressed Card
Do you ever see a stamp and know you HAVE to have it? I call it "stamp love at first sight." (Snicker.) :) This was the case when I saw the Fashionista stamp by Hampton Art on this card. I also have a "thing" for putting funny sentiments with vintage images. City Crafter's Challenge this week is called "Hats Off To You" (creation has to have a hat image or the word "hat" or both). So this stamp was perfect for it. The Pink Elephant is also doing a "Clean and Simple" challenge so I kept my card clean and simple (and you know me....quick and easy). :) I used a glitter frame by Diecuts With A View from their new Tres Chic Collection. I heat embossed the image on it with black embossing powder. I created the sentiment with my Dymo label maker which I probably use too much?....Nah, I love it. :) Popped a pretty jewel at the top by Prima Marketing and there you have my "stressed, depressed but well dressed" card. :) Had a eye doctor appointment plus grocery shopping and lots of errands today. The weather was so pretty I had to break down and buy a couple of "flowers" (and even a "new" flower pot....Shhhh, don't tell hubby since I have way too many flower pots ....but who could resist a zebra striped one? Certainly not me.) Wink. :) I have a feeling I'll be getting my hands dirty tomorrow planting. :)

Hampton Art's Design Team
I've been doing the happy dance since Friday when I got one of those "exciting emails" from Hampton Art. I was selected to be on their very first design team. Hampton Art has been around for a LONG time and I love, love, love their products. :) I went past "fan" stage ages ago and am more like one of their "stalkers" (the good kind of stalker, not the BAD kind...wink). :) I couldn't tell anyone until the official announcement today....Do you know how hard it is for a woman to keep a secret like that? Wink! :) I'm sharing a card I did recently using one of the Hampton Art Graphic 45 Le Cirque 2 images. You know how I like to do quick and simple and this one fits that bill. I stamped the image and then cut out the shape using Sizzix Ticket Framelit. The brad and striped paper are by Echo Park Paper Company. Easy peasy. :) Mondays aren't usually this much fun but this one was a blast! :) Thanks for stopping by. :)
