Recycled Merry & Bright Card

Jingle Belles has a challenge of using a recyled item on your card.  I took a piece of clear plastic from a Sizzix package and trimmed it a little smaller than an A2 sized card.  Next I ran it through an embossing folder with a holly and berries pattern.  Then I used one of my new acohol inks (in Citrus) and applied color to the recycled embossed plastic.  I applied it with a piece of white felt.  Last I went over it lightly with some Tim Holtz metallic mixative in gold (again using white felt).

I mounted the piece on embossed gold metallic gold cardstock.  I used gold staples to attach it securely.  The sentiment diecut is by Momento and I adhered it to the center of the card.  I also used some round gold metallic accents in the top right and bottom left corner.  The hardest thing about this card was trying to get a photo which showed the plastic details well.  :)  It is really pretty in person but was hard to photograph showing it in a good way.  You will just have to "trust me."  Wink.  I'm linking this one up at:

Coffee Shared Tag and Card

I've been trying to find the time all week to make a tag for the current Tag, You're It Challenge.  I finally got to "play" a little while in my crafty cave this afternoon.
First I created the tag.  Using the photo inspiration at Tag, You're It I pulled the colors of yellow, aqua and kraft brown.  Again going with the theme of the tag which was coffees, I pulled out a set of stamps I received for Christmas.  (I never get tired of doing "coffee themed creations.)
Next I created the card using the tag I had made.  I pulled out an embossing folder, some cotton twine and epoxy flower shapes to finish.

Before I put everything away (I always clean up after each project), I stamped the envelope.  This will go in my "card box" and be all ready to mail when an occasion arises for it.

This coffee wants to be joining these fun challenges:

Thanks for sharing your time with me and as always stay crafty!

Ho! Ho! Ho! Card

The Jingle Belles challenge is all about threes this time.  You must have three of something on your card.  I immediately thought of "ho ho ho."  :)  There's also three striped sequins on my card.  Hooray, one less Christmas card to make during the busy holiday season ahead.  I'm enjoying staying on track making Christmas cards during the year instead of stressing about them last minute.  This Santa is scootin' by these challenges:

Stenciled and Foiled Cards

Got to spend some "crafty time" today and have a couple of cards to share.  For the first card, I did a background using Ken Oliver Color Bursts on watercolor paper.  Next I stenciled a leaf background on top of the color burst background using texture paste.  I added green glitter to the texture paste before I applied it to the stencil.  Not sure my photograph shows the glitter in the paste but trust me it is there....AND it is pretty.  (Wink.)  I used some stamps by Penny Black and colored the images with alcohol markers.  I die cut the word sentiment out of yellow fun foam.  Happy to be adding this one to my card stash because I never have enough birthday cards.  These party animals want to join these challenges:

Allsorts (Use Yellow)
I foiled a pineapple with gold foil on black cardstock using the Foil Quill and Silhouette Cameo 3.  I used the standard Foil Quill tip.  The design is from the Silhouette Design store.  The sentiment is a die cut cut from gold foil cardstock (Recollections brand at Michael's).  The Foil Quill did a great job with this pineapple design.   I added a gold metallic bow for a finishing touch.  I have a hard time making metallics look good in a photo but in person this card SHINES.  :)  This pineapple will be standing tall at:
