Cafe Parisian Card

I have another card for the Coffee Lover's Summer Blog hop.  I even learned something making this one.  Did you know that "cafe" is French for coffee?  So this is a French coffee card.  (Wink.)   The stamps are Cafe Parisian by Graphic 45 (and distributed by Hampton Art).  Since this blog hop is for summer, I used bright cheerful colors.  Hope you like it and if you go to France, you will now know how to order your coffee in French!  Don't say I never taught you anything!  (Big wink.)  I also used the sketch at Sketch Saturday for the layout inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by and au revoir.

I used new Distress Oxide ink pads today for the first time. I finally broke down and ordered them after seeing all the amazing looks which can be achieved. I can't wait to have more time to "play" with them since I had to do this card in a hurry. Humorous Depresso Coffee Card

If anyone asks me what my favorite kind of card to make is, I always say funny! I love taking a humorous sentiment and putting it with a vintage image. I recently got a package of paperdolls by Tim Holtz and couldn't wait to use them on a funny card. I am joining in on the fun at the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop with this card. Party Flamingoes Card

It's summer time and my flamingo "addiction" is going strong! I even found a pretty flamingo quilt a few days ago while shopping...and it had to come home with me. I put it in one of the bedrooms upstairs to brighten it up. That bedroom is next to my craft room and will be a good place to take a summer nap or read. One Layer Floral Birthday Card

I have a confession to make. I struggle with one layer cards. I start making one and before I know it....it has layers! So be amazed when you see this card, it is truly a one layer card. I used a pretty floral background stamp and stamped it with black ink. Next I stamped the sentiment with Clearsnap Razzberry pigment ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I used a pink Copic to color some of the centers of the flowers. To give it a little extra "something" I then stippled the colored centers and the edges of the card with glitter Mod Podge. The last step was making myself leave the card alone and "walk away" (because you know I wanted to add a layer)! (BIG wink.) Card challenge blogs are a fun way to use your craft supplies and make you "think ouside the box." This was the case when I decided to play at the UnstampaBelles Challenges. Steampunk Dude Card

It has been a long time since I tried doing a steampunk themed card. Try It On Tuesday's challenge this time around is "Steampunk" which got me motivated. I don't have a lot of actual steampunk stamps although I guess any vintage image will do (especially if you add some gears and wheels...wink). Feeling a little "steampunk rusty" so be kind when you look at this card. Maybe my gears will be turning better with the next try. I used a stamp by Deep Red I have had over a year and a half.
