Foiled Floral Thank You Card

I needed a thank you card for a friend who gave me a Sentimental Blue Balloon Flower recently.  I got it potted today for our porch and it reminded me to get the card done and in the mail.  :)  I used my Foil Quill and Silhouette Cameo to do the floral image plus sentiment.  I found the designs at the Silhouette Design Store.  I used an aqua foil by We 'R Memory Keepers.  I also tried out their new metal mat for the first time and LOVE it!  It makes foiling much easier and faster.  I'm linking this card at:

I'm headed outside to sit by the pool and read.  I am finally reading the book The Art of Racing In The Rain after wanting to for years.  I saw a movie trailer for it yesterday and it looked so good!  It convinced me to get it read (and luckily the library had a copy)!  I've read the first chapter and already cried.  (I recently had to put a pet to sleep so it hit a soft spot with me in the first chapter.)  Thanks for stopping by and as always....stay crafty!  :)

Top Dog Shaker Card

Stayed out of the pool this morning to make a shaker card.....I know what a sacrifice!  (Wink.)  The current Art Impressions challenge is to create a shaker card.  I used this set called Dog Mouthful by Art Impressions.  I used the bone stamp image (with matching die) to create the "shaker" elements.  I ended up putting twelve bones in the shaker part.  I also used the mouth die so the dog image could be holding a bone too.  :)  The background behind the bones was done on watercolor paper using Ken Oliver Color Bursts.  I also did "stitching" for added detail with a black Copic detail pen.  Fun card which will hopefully bring a smile to one of my stamp swapping friends.

Coffee Mixed Media Tag

It's summer and the living is easy!  Spending lots of time outside IN the pool and also OUT of the pool reading by it.  ;)  Not creating as much in the 'ole craft room but managed to play this morning to make a mixed media tag for the Mod Squad Challenge.  I created a background for my tag using Ken Oliver Color Burst.  Next I stenciled a star pattern using texture paste which I had mixed a fine glitter with.  I stamped the images (by Stamplorations) on a piece of watercolor paper with the smooshed ink pad/acetate technique.  I attached a glitter brad in the coffee cup image and attached this panel with foam tape to the tag.  Fun tag to make with lots of depth and texture.    I'm linking this tag up at:

Organized People Desktop Decor

I have another entry for the Art Impressions Desk Decor challenge today.  My craft room has a lot of "zebra accents."  I decided to do my supply organizing box with zebra patterned paper and pink cardstock.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to create the six compartment box.  There are three tall compartments with three shorter ones in front of the tall ones.  The pattern I used can be found at the Silhouette Design Store and is called Desk Organizer by Lori Whitlock.  I used my favorite stamp company Art Impressions (since I love funny images).  Golden Oldies Blanche image was used and can be found here.  I colored the image with Copic markers and trimmed with scissors.  I computer generated the sentiment on pink cardstock.

I have a "thing" for pretty scissors and thought this would be a good organizer for them.  I also needed a better way to organize glues instead of them rolling around haphazardly in my desk drawer.  Since it is summer and I'm spending all my free time at the pool, I thought "Blanche" was perfect for my desktop box.  This design just makes me happy and is going to be quite handy.  :)  Thanks for stopping by and as always stay crafty!  (AND get organized....you'll have more pool time!!!!)  ;)

Sticky Note Holder

The current Art Impressions challenge is calling for "Desktop Decor."  I decided I would make a sticky note holder.  I used a Silhouette Design Store pattern for the sticky note holder base (with pen holder).  Some of my favorite stamps are Goldie Oldies by Art Impressions.  I LOVE putting funny sentiments with them.  :)  This image is "Sound Off Jean."  For the "make notes," I used Sizzix Tim Holtz typewriter alphabet dies.  For the funny sentiment, I used a typewriter font on my laptop and printed it out on white cardstock.

This will be handy on the desk in my craft room for taking notes.  I'm at the age I will forget something unless I write it down.  (Wink.)  Jean is going to be sounding off at these challenges:

Foil Quill Wedding Card

My daughter ask me to create a card for her college dorm roommate who is getting married soon.  After several weeks without rain in our area, we are having a rainy day.  Rainy days mean crafty days (if I'm lucky) and I headed to my craft room after lunch to do a wedding card.  I used my We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill to do the large image with a gold foil.  I used the Standard Foil Quill tip.  The image is by Lori Whitlock and called Sketch Wedding Couple (I bought mine at the Silhouette Design Store.)  The stamped sentiment is from a wedding set by Inkadinkado.  It is prettier in person than in my photo (I can never get foiling to show up well).  This happy couple is going to be joining these fun challenges:

Foiled Text Christmas Card

I have new toys to foil with!  I recently got a laser printer (this is the one I got) and a laminating machine (this is the one I got).  FUN!  This is my first try at foiling using them.  I foiled the "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" with green foil (this is the foil I used) on ivory cardstock.  The patterned paper was one in my stash (by October Afternoon) and the embossing folder is one by Sizzix.  I found the green jewels at Family Dollar Store (good score)!  :)  I did this card for the "Text Me" challenge at Jingle Belles.

Growing Up Birthday Card

Hope you are enjoying the warmer weather in your neck of the woods.  It has already gotten HOT here.....and you know what you do when it turns hot?  Well, besides hanging out at the pool, you go to your craft room and make a card.  ;)  When you think of silhouette images, black is always the color which comes to my mind.  I thought it would be fun to do a different colored silhouette image.  I used a small patterned paper print to cut out these Spellbinder die children.  I cut it out again in lime green and did a "shadow" behind them.  These birthday loving kids are joining these challenges:
