Merry & Bright Card

I'm sharing a quick card I made this afternoon for some fun challenges.  I used my new Silhouette Cameo to cut the tag and the reindeer die cut.  The patterned paper is by Fancy Pants Designs and I decided to play up the aqua in it for something different.  As You Like It Challenge's is your favorite die and why.  I can't pick a favorite die except on the day I use it.  So today my favorite die is the scalloped tag I cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  ;)  My red nosed reindeer will be playing at:

Jingle Belles (Text Me)
Use Your Stuff (Tag You're It!)
Watercooler Wednesday Challenge (All About Christmas)
ABC Christmas Challenge (A Is For Antler and B Is For Birds)

Hot Snowman and Coffee Cards

I have three cards to share with you today.  The first one is the result of playing with my Silhouette Cameo I got for Christmas  I cut out all the elements of this die cut design in white cardstock.  Then I colored the nose, scarf, mitten, cup and heart with Copic markers.  (I found the design here.)  This seemed like it would be faster than trying to cut each thing out from a different cardstock.  I'm all about fast and easy.  ;)  The snowflake border stamp is by Hampton Art.  My hot snowman is going to be joining the following challenges:

Stamping Sensations (Cold and Frosty Colors)

Simply Create Too (Embossing/Wet Or Dry)

Addicted To Stamps (Baby, It's Cold Outside)

My second card is all about two of my favorite things....books and coffee!  There is nothing better than enjoying a good book with a good cup of coffee.  Are you reading anything good currently?  My latest book is "The Heart's Invisible Furies" by John Boyne.  I got it a few months ago from Book of the Month Club and have just started it.  I can tell it is going to be a good one.  The sentiment stamps are by STAMPlorations and the patterned paper and cup die are by Jillibean Soup.  The word die is by Lil'Inkers.  This "happy books and coffee" card is going to link up at:

Fusion Card Challenge (Coffee and a Book)

CAS-ual Fridays (More Coffee Please)

Coffee Lover's Blog (Sketch Challenge)

I was playing with the Silhouette Cameo again on my third card.  I created the Coffee word die cut from black card stock using it.  I love being able to size my word die cuts to what I need.  The stamped cup and sentiment are by Casual Fridays stamps (Peace, Love and Coffee Set).  The patterned paper is by Jillibean Soup.  Again, fast and easy which means I got to craft plus had time to read and drink a cup of coffee.  ;)  I'm going to link up this card at:

Mod Squad Challenge (Rainbows)

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge (More Coffee Please)

Party Animals Card

I played with my new Silhouette Cameo making today's card.  I created the black cardstock die cut frame with it on this card.  I found it in the Silhouette Design Store and you can see it here.
I wanted this card to be fun and playful so colored it with bright colored markers.  The challenge at As You Like It is favorite die and why.  Choosing a favorite die is like asking me to choose my favorite child.  :)  In other words impossible.  So I'm going to say TODAY my favorite die is Dotted Label by Loni Stevens.  These party animals are going to be acting up at the following challenges:

Time Out Challenge (Inspired By Words)

Naughty or Nice Challenge (I chose to play "nice" with this birthday celebration.)  ;)

Paru's Card Making Challenge (New -- I used my NEW Silhouette Cameo.)

As You Like It Challenge (Favorite Die and Why -- My current favorite is Dotted Label because it is different and versatile.)

CARD RECIPE:
Stamps -- Neat & Tangled (Wild Ones)
Ink Pad - Clearsnap (Wicked Black)
Markers -- Staedtler
Cardstock -- Recollections (Red, Yellow and Black)
Die Cut Label -- Silhouette Design Store (Dotted Labels by Loni Stevens)
Enamel Stars -- Jillibean Soup
Star Spangles -- JoAnn's Stores, Inc.
Pop Dots -- All Night Media

I got out and bought groceries this afternoon.   After a week of being home because of cold weather plus snow and ice, it was nice being out in civilization.  ;)  I am now stocked up for the next cold wave.  I rather enjoyed staying home during last week's weather though.  It was perfect for card making, reading and binge watching Netflix. (Hubby and I are now on second season of Frontier.  I was a history major and love it.)  ;)
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by to visit.

Snow Cute Card

I love a good challenge so I wanted to join in on the fun at Laurel Seabrook's first Inspired By....Challenge.  I was inspired by the snowflakes and snowmen on the cookies in the photo  It was a good excuse to use my surprise Christmas present again (Silhouette Cameo) for the title.  I got the title at the Silhouette Design Store and you can find it here.  I'm also going to be hanging these mittens up at Cupcake Inspirations (see photo below).  I used the snowflakes for my inspiration in their photo.  I'll also be linking to Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge of Winter Blues (use blue on your creation).  Whew...today has been a busy day with making three cards for two new challenges.  I may have to rest tomorrow....like that will happen.  I know I have to make a cake for a supper we are going to Friday night.  Going to try a new recipe (Caramel Apple Pie Poke Cake....doesn't that sound good!)  ;)  See you later and if you want that cake recipe, let me know!

First Twofer Challenge -- Friendship Card and Sympathy Card

Today is a good day because it is the first challenge for the Twofer Card Challenge.  You are to create two cards from the same stamp set and/or dies.  The cards are to be different and for different occasions.  You have to photograph your two cards in one photo.  Sound like something you would be interested in?  You can check it out here.

This is the first card I did and it has a friendship theme.  The stamp set I used was by Jillibean Soup and the feather die by Cuttlebug.  I'm also going to link this card up at Stamping Sensations for a Cold and Frosty Colors Challenge (blues, purples, silver and white).

My second card has a sympathy theme.  I used the same stamp set and feather die plus the same colors (I thought it would look better in the twofer photograph since they have to "share..")  ;)  This card is going to also join the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown of Layer It Up.

For You Penguin Card

Today I have a photo tutorial for a card I did for day 12 at the 12 Days of Giveaways at MarkerPop.   I had an idea for a card with a scene using a penguin image I had by Pink and Main.  First I needed a tree and used my ScanNCut2 to cut a green cardstock die cut.

After creating the green cardstock diecut, set it aside.  Next you need to make your white cardstock base.

I used a cloud stencil to make the background on the white cardstock.

I tore three pieces of white cardstock to put at the bottom of the card base to make it look like it had snowed.  I also cut a piece of brown cardstock so the tree would have a trunk.  :)

Next I stamped my images.  I thought I would be putting two penguins on my card but ended up only using one of them.  I colored the images using Copic markers.

Next I cut from red cardstock a word diecut using my Big Shot.

Then I assembled all the pieces of my card and used a white chalk marker to add details to the tree diecut.  Plus I used the white chalk marker to make it look like snow falling on the stenciled cloud background.

Next I applied Frosted Lace Stickles along the edges of the torn white edges and spread it with a Q-tip.  This gives the card some sparkle and looks like "ice."

I glued red, green and blue sequins to the tree.  I hope you enjoyed my little photo tutorial and thanks for stopping by during this busy but happy holiday season.  I am also linking my coffee penguin up at the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and Muse: ChristmasVisions.

CARD RECIPE:

I got up extra early today to do a card for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop since I had to work.  I found the diecut sentiment at Miss Kate's Cuttables and used my ScanNCut2 to cut it out.  I lucked out since it was a freebie (I think today only).  I thought it would be cute to put the reindeer image sitting on a coffee cup.  I'm going to be linking my merry reindeer up also at:

Spilled Coffee Tag

I have a quick post for a tag I did for 12 Tags of Christmas With A Feminine Twist plus the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  I was inspired by the bright pretty colors of both Sharon and Svitlana's tags.  I used one of my favorite new Christmas stamps.  It is by Technique Junkies and I smile each time I see it because it looks just like my cat Tiger!!!!  I decided to take a little personal liberty with the sentiment to make it fit the coffee lovers blog hop better.  I used alphabet stamps and created the "and spilled" plus a coffee word die cut.  Hope you like my funny tag today and thanks for stopping by.  I am still needing to decorate the tree in the den....It would be long done if I would stop sneaking in my craft room and making tags and cards.  ;)

TAG RECIPE:

Victorian Christmas Tag

I am in the midst of decorating our main tree today but took a break to make a tag for 12 Tags of Christmas With A Feminine Twist.  It was nice to sit down, rest and get crafty a few minutes.  I had to ponder a little while on today's tag with the pink, mint and gold colors (actually just a good excuse to sit and rest a tad longer.)  ;)  I was inspired by Elena Roussakis's tag where she did a layered shaker tag minus the shake part.  I found the patterned paper in my stash by Prima Marketing which had the mint and pink colors.  It reminded me of a Victorian Christmas so that's the look I went for.  I die cut the scalloped oval tag twice (once in patterned paper and once in gold foil board).  I used pop dots between the two for diminsion to create my faux shaker card.  Better get back to decorating our tree....I've rested long enough!  ;)

TAG RECIPE:
Stamp -- Unity Stamp Company
Ink Pad -- Clearsnap (Wicked Black)
Patterned Paper -- Prima Marketing, Inc.
Gold Foil Board -- DCWV
Die Cuts -- Sizzix
Paper Crimper -- Fiskars
Flowers -- The Paper Studio
Glitter Glue -- Stickles (Frosted Lace) by Ranger
Ribbon -- MSPCI
Mini Pop Dots -- All Night Media

I'm also linking my Victorian Christmas tag up at:
