Winter Deer Friend Card

Cut It Up has a "Into The Woods" challenge and I immediately thought of one of my favorite sets by Ellen Hutson. (The upper sentiment is by Sweet N Sassy stamps.) I knew it would be perfect with a Silhouette Cameo design I already owned (#100543 Birch Trees With Deer Family).  I wanted to keep it clean looking and only used three colors of cardstock (kraft, white and black). Inchies "Under The Sea" Card

I've had the busiest morning but still managed to hide out in my craft room long enough to make this card.  :)  I couldn't resist the CAS Mix Up challenge of "Inchies."  I had background paper I created a few days ago where I used foil transfer gel with a stencil.  After the gel dried, I put it through my heat laminator using turquoise foil.  The foiled circles reminded me of water bubbles and that's the idea I ran with.  In my stash I found small fish image stamps which wouldn't overpower the inchies.  I also dry embossed three white cardstock inchies with a circle pattern.  After stamping waves and a sentiment on a white cardstock panel, I arranged the inches with the stamped fussy cut fish.  This is definitely a CAS card!

Ships and Dragonflies

I had a few minutes to hang out in the crafty cave and created two clean and simple cards.  The first one I stamped (Hampton Art/Graphic45) on watercolor paper with VersaFine Onyx Black.  Next I used Spectrum Noir Aqua markers with water and a brush to apply color.  The word die cut was done with my Silhouette Cameo (#29892 Ahoy Matey by Jennifer Wambach) and black cardstock.  I felt it still needed a "little" something and went through by stash of charms.  I thought the mermaid was a nice finishing touch.  :)  I'm linking this one up at:

I'm still seeing dragonflies and wanted to do one more card with them.  I stenciled a gray cardstock panel with gray ink and stamped a sentiment at the bottom.  The dragonfly die cuts were done with my Silhouette Cameo (#125537) and white cardstock.  I used a punch by EK Success to do the pink cardstock flower (embossed with a Sizzix polka dot embossing folder).  For a little bling, I used small pink self-adhesive rhinestones.  Easy peasy card but I was pleased with how it turned out.  :)  This one is joining:

Dragonfly Smiles Card

I couldn't resist doing another dragonfly card for CASology.  I have seen the most dragonflies this summer while hanging out at our pool.  One almost gave me a heart attack when it dive bombed into my hair.  :)  So since summer is winding down and fall is upon us, I thought I would pay tribute to these beautiful creatures.  I used the Crafter's Companion Foil Press to create the frame (Gemini Foilpress Papercraft Foil in Turquoise).  The shine in the foiled frame is not showing up well in my photo but pretty "in person."  I also used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen on the stamped wings of the dragonflies.  The stamps are from my stash (dragonfly byHampton Art/Graphic 45 and sentiment by Altenew).  These dragonflies will be flying by:

Cream To My Coffee Card

I can never pass up a change to make a coffee themed card so I knew I had to join the current Fusion Challenge.  This card is prettier in person because I never get good results when I photograph gold foil cardstock.  It has stamping with brown inks, die cuts (done with Silhouette Cameo) and a gold cup charm from my stash.  I was inspired by the sketch and the photo at the Fusion Card Challenge.

It has finally cooled down here after several days of 97+ temperatures.  When I took my morning walk, I enjoyed a cool breeze which was NICE!  :)  It might actually feel like fall at the high school football game tonight!  Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay crafty (and enjoy your coffee).  :)

Peace On Earth Card

I tried a new background making technique today with stencils which was fun.  I inked the stencils with Distress Oxide Ink pads and then lightly misted the stencils.  Next I placed my white cardstock panel on top of each stencil and pressed down.  I repeated this several times with different colors of Distress Oxide inks.  I used two different stencils too.  Fun technique with endless variations possible.  :)  I wanted to use this background for the current Jingle Belles challenge of "Peace On Earth."  I found the perfect die cut sentiment in my collection of Silhouette Design store designs. I didn't have a rubber stamp image of Earth but I found a free black and white clip art one.  I'm joining the following challenges:

The weatherman tricked me into thinking today would be cooler but it is another 97 degree day here.  So I'm heading to the pool with my good book (This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger) for one more day of swimming.  I appreciate your visit and hope your day has been a peaceful one.  As always....stay crafty (use those ink pads with your stencils!)  ;)

Inlaid Die Cut Birthday Card

I'm late to the party trying the "inlaid die cut technique."  This is my first attempt but I don't think it will be my last.  It was fun!  ;)  I die cut the word "birthday" out of trimmed shiny gold foil cardstock.  ( I get it at Michael's.  You can see it here.  I love it!!!!)  Then I used a floral patterned paper which has gold metallic accents to do the inlaid part.  I used a daisy punch to add patterned paper flowers and also a small circle punch for the centers of the daisies.  The sentiment stamp is one by Sizzix.  Clean and simple but also fast and FUN!  :)  Thank you AAA Cards for getting me to try a new technique!  :)
