Get Well Soon Card
Happy Memorial Day! I was able to "sneak" off for about thirty minutes this afternoon and make a card based on this week's 2 Sketches 4 You #53. I was pleased with how this one turned out. The rubber stamps are by Hampton Art. The border punch is by Fiskars. I grabbed my handy Dymo Caption Maker for the sentiment. I was not sure what I would be able to do since I was tired when I started. (Too much time in the kitchen plus a trip to a very busy grocery store to get things for tonight's dinner.) :) I'm not one of those that particularly likes to stay in the kitchen either. Too many years and too many meals for that to be "my thing." BUT since my family does seem to like home cooking and refuses to eat paper I make the sacrifice. They think I am a good cook too. (Wink.) :) My husband is grilling shrimp, steaks and corn for everyone tonight though, so that will be a welcome break. Any break from the kitchen is a winner in my book. Besides playing with paper, brads, etc. is much more FUN. :) Thanks for stopping by and visit again soon.

Eat Your Veggies Card
Today's card will fit several challenge blogs: Pile It On (Eat Your Veggies), Paper Sundaes (Kraft and Blue Colors),
Card Patterns (sketch) and Cupcake Inspiration (polka dots). The image is by Crafty Secrets (from the Summertime Image and Journal Notes). The ribbon is by American Crafts and the embossing folder is by Sizzix. The flowers are by Prima Marketing and the brads are by Basic Grey. I used the Dymo Caption Maker (with clear tape) to creat the sentiments. Hope you have had a nice restful day. It ended up being cloudy with some rain here....perfect afternoon to get caught up on my "new" favorite show, Justified. (My hubby will even watch this one.) :) Then I fried up some chicken, baked some biscuits and fixed a big bowl of fresh peaches for our dinner tonight. Thanks for visiting. Come again soon to see what I've created plus make your mouth water. (Wink.)

Embossed Happy Day Graduation Card
Do you like embossing folders as much as I do? :) They're almost as good an invention as ice cream. :) Just Us Girls Challenge posted today for projects with dry embossing. I needed to do a graduation card so decided it had to have embossing on it. The star embossing folder is by Sizzix. All the rubber stamps are by The [Stamps] Of Life. The star brads are by The Paper Studio (found at Hobby Lobby). I had to take my youngest shopping for some things she needed for camp next week. After we had gotten all the necessary items, I managed to find a few minutes (and the energy) to go in Hobby Lobby. You know how those 40% off coupons burn a hole in my pocket. Want to hear about the treasure I got? :) I got the Tim Holtz stapler called "The Tiny Attacher" (plus some refills). I tried it out tonight and I'm in love. (Will show that card later). It works great for attaching, pleating, etc. ribbon. Made my daughter stand in line too (yes, shameless) for a 1 1/4 inch square punch. I also found some black and white houndstooth ribbon (you'll be seeing that later) and some alphabet stickers. So my teenage daughter came home happy with a new digital camera (because of a class she's taking this summer) and mom too....because of the Hobby Lobby visit. :) Isn't it fun walking around and trying decide what to use those coupons for? I don't know about you but I can always find something. :)

Diamonds and Marilyn Card
Stampotique Designers Challenge has a purple challenge going on this week. Besides purple being the main color, you have to use a Stampotique Originals stamp. I love the color purple plus Stampotique Originals stamps so this challenge had to be done. Not only that but I had to make it to day 14 of "my" challenge. :) I chose a Marilyn Monroe quote to use with my Marilyn stamp from Stampotique Originals. I thought purple would be a good "Marilyn" color too. :) The flowers are by Prima Marketing, the brads by Karen Foster and the embossing folder is by Sizzix. Had a fun night out to eat plus saw the new Sex and the City 2 movie. All of a sudden I feel like a I need a whole new wardrobe (wink). :) Mr. Big was not bad "eye candy" either. :) The movie was packed with ladies. We only saw a few men at this one.....another chick flick I guess. :) Thanks for stopping by.
Favorite Stampsmith Stamp Cards
There's a challenge at Crafty Creations (Challenge #69) to use your favorite stamp. Do you know how hard a challenge that is when you have a zillion "favorite" stamps? :) I finally narrowed it down to a stamp by Stampsmith. I won't say it is my favorite stamp "ever" but it is my favorite for "today." :) I love, love, love working with stamps that are old photograph images. I have the most fun coming up with funny sayings, etc. for them. This card has an old photograph of Valentino (the silent movie star) which I love. The flowers are by Prima Marketing and the brads are by The Paper Studio (found at Hobby Lobby). Below is another card made with this stamp I did a few weeks ago.
All the supplies on this card are by Little Yellow Bicycle (Fresh Print Clothesline Collection). Thanks for stopping by. Better get going for the day....lots to do. Laundry seems to multiply at my house. :) Going to see the new Sex and the City movie tonight....that should be good for some laughs. :)

Who's Having A Birthday? Card
Believe it or not, I've made it to day twelve of my challenge of creating a card a day for one or more of the challenge sites. I'm patting myself on the back as I type (wink, wink). :) Today's card fits the bill for three challenges going on: Pink Elephant (make orange the focal color), City Crafter Challenge (recipe of 1 ribbon, 2 papers and 3 flowers) and Just Christmas and Birthday Cards (sketch). The little owl and sentiment stamps are by Hampton Art. The rick rack diecut borders are by Sizzix. The flowers are by Prima Marketing and the brads are by Basic Grey. The ribbon is by Offray and the cardstocks are by American Crafts. I also used a one inch square punch by EK Success. My hubby left for some meetings yesterday and was going to be going "by" a Michael's on his way. (Remember I live 70 miles from the nearest one. Tragic but true.) :) He volunteered to stop and get things for me IF I had a good list, etc. (Good meaning that he could understand what the heck he was looking for.) :) I had been wanting more of the Prima Flowers in the glass bottles (had one I could "show" him). He found them and called from the store to tell the colors. I finally was able to "narrow" it down to seven so I'm anxiously awaiting his return today. :) Which will I be the happiest to see....him or the goodie bag? Hmmmmmm. Wink! :) Thanks for stopping by and come back soon. You might get to see some of those Prima flowers (pretty safe bet). :)

Thanks To You "Banners" Card
The [Stamps] Of Life design team has a challenge going on today called "Feeling Punchy." You have to use punches or diecuts on your creation. My card also fits the Cupcake Craft Challenges this week to use black, grey plus one other color. I used a dark charcoal gray plus pink for my "other" color. The banner stamps are called banners4all (set #9) and are from The [Stamps] Of Life. I used diecuts from Sizzix and the brad is by The Paper Studio. The rub-on letters are by Royal & Langnickel. Well, I've made it to day eleven of "my" challenge to create a card a day from a challenge blog. :) Thanks for stopping by. :)
Happy Birthday, Boy! Card
Daring Cardmakers has a challenge to make a card for little boys or teenage boys currently. I had some new chipboard alphabet stickers, epoxy stickers and patterned papers from Prima Marketing that were perfect for this challenge. Throw in some dotted Swiss cardstock by Bazzill and a Hampton Art sentiment stamp to get a fast and easy card. I'm proud of myself in that I've made it to day ten of "my" challenge (of doing a card a day for one of the challenge sites.) It has been SO much fun. What did we ever do without the internet and challenge blogs for "jump-starts" to our crafting? :) Did you watch "Lost" last night? I was satisfied with the way it ended (I think). :) I was very satisfied until they showed the last clip of all the wreckage on the beach. Bittersweet ending to a show that we hardly missed an episode of. Oh Sawyer, we will miss ya! :) Hope your Monday is off to a great start. I cleaned out my refrigerators this morning (one in the house and one in the garage for extra storage). Let's just say I washed a lot of bowls and had some nice cultures growing. (Wink.) Thanks for stopping by and vist again soon. :)

CPS Sketch #168
The [Stamps] Of Life is the sponser of CPS (Sketch #168) this week. The instant I saw this sketch I knew it was perfect for the "hip2be" set. This is a fun set with lots of different squares. This card was a snap with the sketch for inspiration. The rub-on is by Royal & Langnickel while the embossing folder is by Sizzix. The black ribbon is by Offray. Fast and easy....a wonderful thing in summer with school out and all the other summer actitivies going on. :) Be sure to check out all the fun stamps sets at The [Stamps] Of Life. Are you ready for the last episode of "Lost?" We fixed an early dinner and all of us are in our comfy chairs parked in front of the TV. I hope it will finally answer some questions and not leave us still "Lost." While we're hoping, let's hope the actor that plays Sawyer gets another hit show SOON. I'll miss him the most. (Wink, wink.) :) Thanks for stopping by and visit again soon.
Shy Flower Card
The movie this week at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge is Becoming Jane. Jane Austen is much beloved at our house. Then with the added challenge of using pearls and flowers, well who could resist? :) My card's main focal point is a beautiful flower by Prima Marketing. The image is from a CD called Victorian Vintage Blank Labels by Lunagirl. The pearls are by Prima Marketing and the embossing folder is by Sizzix. The computer font is one called Edwardian Script. The lace is some I found at a fabric store several years ago. I've made it to day nine of "my" challenge (of doing a card a day from one of the challenge blogs). Hope you are having a super weekend. We've been having a nice one staying home, grilling and swimming. I've also been trying to catch up on some of my favorite TV shows. I had gotten behind with Justified (really like this new show on the FX network) and Flash Forward (this one has been cancelled...Not too surprised about that since I couldn't see the show story line going much further but it 's been interesting.) Thanks for stopping by. Visit again soon to see if I have created another card with "my challenge. :)

All That I Am Card
Stampin'B's Design Challenge #59 is to use three circles on your card. I've had this stamp from Stamp Francisco for a long time just waiting to be used. The papers and sticker are by Basic Grey (new Cappella collection). The rub-on is by Royal & Langnickel. The rhinestones are by My Mind's Eye. Last night went to see the new movie, "Letters To Juliet" with my two daughters. The theatre was full with mostly women and a "few" men (that had been dragged by their wives or girlfriends). :) I talked to one of the guys there though after it was over and they liked it more than they thought they would. Said it was good and very funny. :) Which says it all....it is good and funny. I'll be adding this one to my DVD movie collection. It makes me want to pack my bags for Italy (gorgeous scenery in the movie). My daughter got to spend five weeks in Italy last summer taking a college course. It was particularly fun for her to watch. :) Well, I've made it to day eight of "my" challenge. Whew....can I last another week or two or three? :) Thanks for visiting...Have a great weekend.

Aloha Card
I have a quick card to share with you today that is good for three different challenge sites: Cute Card Thursday (Sketch), Charmisa Cardz (3-D), and Paper Take Weekly (Say It With Flowers). The patterned paper is by Prima Marketing (so are the flowers). The rubber stamps are by Hampton Art (I put foam tape under the lanterns to make them 3-D). The embossing folder is by Sizzix. The brad is by Imaginisce. I used ink pads by Clearsnap (Vivid in pink and turquoise). My trip to Michael's got cancelled yesterday due to weather. I was glad I didn't go as most of the city was out of power I later found out (which meant the stores had to close). I had thought I might go today but again the rain and storms are going on. Oh well. :) I've made it to day seven of "my" challenge (of doing a card a day for a challenge blog). It has been fun and I am starting to get curious to see how long I can last. :) Do you have fun plans for your Friday night? Thinking that my girls and I will go see the new movie "Letters To Juliet" tonight. This one looks like a good "chick" flick.:) Thanks for stopping by.

Relaxing Flamingo Card
How about a card challenge that has to have a photo plus embossed paper? That's the one that was posted Tuesday for Cuttlebug Challenge. I've had the flamingo photo printed out for a couple of weeks that was begging to be used. :) The stamps are by Hampton Art. How about that flamingo stamp being a "match"? :) The embossing folder is by Cuttlebug and the ribbon is by Offray. Let me give a big "WoooHooo" this afternoon for two reasons. First, I made it to day six of "my" challenge (to do a card everyday from one of the challenge sites). Second, I'm going to Michael's in about an hour. The nearest one for me is nearly 70 miles away but my hubby has a meeting tonight and I'm tagging along to shop (at Michael's). IF the weather cooperates, it's looking pretty stormy on the radar and I hate traveling in this kind of weather. Remember I'm in the South where there are tornadoes pretty regular. :) Boo to the weather this afternoon. :) I have all these visions of new ribbons, Slice cartridges, etc. and the "weather troll" is not playing fair. :) Cross your fingers, toes and eyes I get to go....I may just have to put my big girl underwear on and go anyway. :) Thanks for stopping by and come back soon to see how long I can last on "my" challenge. :)

Good Adventure Card
When I saw the challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog I knew I had to do it! I always enjoy a Paris themed challenge. It's a good excuse to use some of those Paris related stamps, papers, diecuts, etc. :) So here I go at day 5 of "my" challenge to do a card every day from one of the challenge sites. This card has a beautiful Eiffel Tower stamp by Stampsmith. The tag and paper are by Teresa Collins. The pretty red flowers are by Prima (one of my favorite companies). The brads are by My Mind's Eye. The border at the bottom of the tag is a punch by Martha Stewart. The small rub-on letters are by Royal & Langnickel. After my trip to the doctor yesterday, I'm feeling much better! Maybe that shot was worth it. Wink! :) Thanks for stopping by and come back soon. I know you'll want to see how long I can last on "my" challenge. :)

Twice As Nice Friends Card
Sharing a fast and fun card I made for the Charisma Cardz Challenge/Week 19. You have to have food or drink on your creation. I found the cute images in one of my Crafty Secrets booklets. The cardstock and patterned cardstock are by Diecuts With A View. The flower is by Prima Marketing and the brads are by Basic Grey. The rub-on word "Friends" is by Royal & Langnickel. So far I'm up to day four of the challenge to myself of creating at least one card for a challenge blog. Let's see how long I'll be able to continue....I've done this one with a sinus infection no less. :) Come visit again and see if I can continue on....who knows what I'll do when I kick this sinus problem. (Wink!)
Thanks Banner Floral Card
I've made it to day four of the challenge to myself to create at least one card a day at a challenge blog. Doesn't sound all that impressive when you say day four but it does if you say I went to the doctor this morning. :) Feeling poorly with sinus problems so went to get some medicine but not a shot. (Wink.) Too bad the doctor didn't know that....ouch, my hip still hurts. :) Guess that just proves I was sick! :) Anyway my card today fits the challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge of having blooms and a charm on your creation. The papers are by Little Yellow Bicycle and the gold foil board is by Grafix. The transparency flower is by Little Yellow Bicycle too. The banner stamp is by The Stamps Of Life while the ink pad is by Clearsnap (Vivid in Pink). The rub-on letters are by Royal & Langnickel. The charms are from A Charming Place and the flower jewel stickers are by Little Yellow Bicycle. Thanks for stopping by to see if I lasted another day with my self-challenge. :) Hopefully tomorrow I will be feeling better. Nearly everyone I talk to is having some sort of allergy problems....makes me fit in I guess. :)

Star Celebrate Card
Today's card is based on a sketch at CPS (#167). It was a simple one and I liked that (especially since I have tons and tons of laundry to do. Do you have laundry trolls at your house? Wink!) :) Remember I've made bet to myself that I can do at least one card challenge a day. So far so good, yep have done it a whole three days now. :) This card has patterned paper by We R Memory Keepers (new Old Glory Collection). The striped cardstock is by Bazzill. The star diecuts are by Sizzix and the glitter brads are by We R Memory Keepers (same collection). Better get to work on that laundry before the "laundry trolls" add more to the baskets. :) Thanks for visiting my blog and have a super Monday. :)

Age Numbers Card
I've made a "promise" to myself that I'm going to try and do at least one card challenge a day. How long will that last? :) Well, it's day two and I'm still going. :) We'll be more impressed though if I can last a lot longer, right? :) I chose the challenge at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge for today. The movie to inspire this week is "New Moon" plus use some silver on your card. I have to admit I drew a blank on this one and had to ponder on it a while. I had not seen the movie yet (even though my teenage daughter has a copy of it). What fun to watch the movie and create this card!!!! I chose the quote from the movie "Age is just a number, baby." I love to work with vintage images so picked one from Lunagirl where the gentleman has sort of a "biting" look to him (wink, wink). The rubber stamp is by Hampton Art and the ribbon is by Teresa Collins. The pretty flower is by Prima Marketing. The touch of silver is some silver foil board by Grafix and silver heart brads. My hubby has volunteered to grill some BBQ chicken for dinner tonight so that I can get out of the kitchen early to watch the last episode of Survivor. Very sweet of him since he knows how much I LOVE that show. :) Thanks for stopping by and visit again soon. :)

Allegiance Card
I had such fun creating this afternoon that I actually got to do two cards. Here is the second one and it fits two challenge sites this week. It fits the bill for the Just Us Girls one of using red, white and blue plus kraft colors. It will also do for the Crazy 4 Challenges one of creating some form of pocket on your card. The image is by Lunagirl while the patterned papers are by We R Memory Keepers. All of the diecuts are by Sizzix. The star brads are by The Paper Studio. Not sure who made the ribbon as it is some I've had for quite a while. All right I'm off to watch the new Sherlock Holmes movie....the couch is calling my name. :)Thanks for dropping by and hope to see you again soon. :)
Celebrate USA Card
Found some free time to "play" this afternoon (a rare treat). I wanted to create a card for the Just Us Girls challenge. The challenge this week was to use patriotic colors of red, white and blue plus kraft. The image on this card is by Lunagirl while the embossing folder is by Sizzix. The patterned music paper is by 7 Gypsies and the brads are by My Mind's Eye. The "celebrate" is a rubber stamp by Hampton Art and the alphabet stickers are by My Little Shoebox. The stars are diecuts by Sizzix and the ribbon is some I've had a long time in my "stash." I think it is by Offray. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. The heat has finally arrived in my neck of the woods. It is hot and humid today. Thank heavens for air conditioning. :) Perfect weather to get on the couch and watch a movie from Netflix. Yes, the patio needs washing off and there are a million things to do BUT the new Sherlock Holmes movie arrived yesterday and I think I'll watch it. :)

The [Stamps] Of Life May Release
Sometimes I can't believe how fast time goes by. You know the drill, how fast my girls have grown, how a month seems to disappear at an alarming rate, etc., etc. :) This being the case this month, I don't know where April disappeared to but here is another month GONE. :) It's funny how times goes by slowly when you are young. (Can you remember how long it took for Christmas to come when you were a kid?) Now I blink and it is here. :) Anyway enough of my wisdom today. The first of a new month is not always bad. That's when the new stamps are released by The Stamps Of Life. This month's set is an especially fun one to use. It's called banners4all. Let's just say I had a lot of fun with this set! :) Here are some of the cards I made with it.
